I loved this game when i was a kid!! I was suddenly reminded of this recently when i started playing Pikmin 4. Same kind of environments being explored at around the same relative size! I hadnt thought about this game in like 20 years then suddenly i was like "why is this all so familiar?" Lol

I still remember how difficult this mission was for me as a kid, I didn't even know English back then... Deathmatch was a mystery :D I could never defend the starting town so eventually I came up with a plan to just take my villagers and search for new lands :DD I didn't understand hints and didn't know that there is something in the west, I just kept trying to break through the enemy navy somewhere far away. And by accident I came accross a perfect hideout guarded by two alligators. I walled myself in and began living :DD Only many years later in game I gathered strength to scout up the mountain.... And found that huge army waiting for me. It was so awesome. But since so much time has passed, enemy already cut through all the woods ond the map and through the back entrance. I ended up losing aeven that big army xDD After many tries I beat this scenario. It was Glorious :DD

The one time I tried Elite League with Krazy 8, the run died on this level. It was either my lack of skill or the absolutely awful max speed stat of the car.

The AI are stupid difficult even on easy. It's completely bullshit that they maneuver around corners with no need to handbrake as well. I always liked cars such as Vulture for the engine sound the best, but the only car I ever cleared the Elite League with was Sidedraft. Somehow I won every race. I still have the PC disc, but no disc drive. My older computer wouldn't install the game since it had a modern AMD CPU. This one has an Intel i7, so I wonder if it would install it.

Now I would really Love someone to make a remake of this Using Unreal engine 5

I remember how cracked the AI are. There are spiral turns like in Emerald Crater that they take the middle of the road without slowing down, but you're constantly rubbing the guardrails because turning that tightly while maintaining speed is impossible. Somehow as a kid I cleared the Elite league mode while winning every race. Doubt I could do that now.
