What type of hapkido did you study if you don't mind me asking? It seems that every technique that is stand up grappling I learned while studying kuk sool in the USA. I have also encountered most of these techniques in hapkido as well.

Street fight and mma are different. There are a lot of moves taught in some forms of Martial arts that are straight up illegal in MMA. I am not saying this is one of them, but it does not make this at all Impractical and cane easily be adapted into routine. Edit. Do people forget that MMA is a combination of multiple Martial arts.

It is a hybrid martial art that was influenced by Judo, TKD, hapkido, Tukkong Musool, kickboxing, kyuktoogi (korean kickboxing), taekkyeon and kumdo (kendo). Russians studied judo, catch wrestling, jujutsu, savate, different central asian wrestling styles and decided to call it something else: Sambo. This is how martial arts are created. Why is this a surprise to some people?

Those students who spar in a mask must have some crazy breathing skills. I remember trying to wear a mask in class after covid and it was hard to breathe in during warmup 😂
