You must find your dogs working level - each dog will be different.. seeing as though you are asking this question - I recommend more study and research before you get an ecollar as any tool used incorrectly can potentially harm a dog...

Would highly discourage people from Dogtra products. Go with literally any other brand. Long story short, my collar fried my dog without my control & customer service was like “eh, it happens". I sent in the collar for a diagnostic check & they sent it back with zero feedback and hasn't worked since they sent it back.

My first dog was a Keeshond. Best dogs ever!!!! I now have two puppies. Training is going well. However, I didn’t realize what I was getting into when I brought two home at the same time. Lol. KZfaq videos have helped me out so much. My one puppy is much like this one (food driven for sure!!!) He’s so much more excited than the other. I was getting a little worried.. lol. So glad you posted this. I needed to see a video with an excited little pup like this!! I wish you had more vids training this pup.

I got a Dogtra IQ easily 10 years ago and recharge it maybe every other day . And I have never replaced the batteries adfter hundreds of recharges. Working Level for my dogs is about 20-40 and very seldom a 'bottom button' to trigger an aversive 'sting' (I had an Innotek in 1991 when 1-button and dipswitch aversive was all that was available). I learned how to use and 'electric' collar and later an 'electronic collar' from professional dog handlers. An e-collar is NOT a DIY project and requires skilled instruction to use it correctly.

I have a friend's dog for the weekend that has an older Dogtra. Last time I could push the locate button and it would make an audible noise on the collar. this time it's not working. I charged both until the green light came on. Do you have any ideas on why the alarm isn't sounding?

Im glad someone's shows that trouble dogs are not unworkable. You literally just need patience and persistence and all dogs can be groomed. My pyrenees hates his nails being cut. He will show me teeth, but a firm correction early on lets him know he CANNOT bite or act out. The sooner its over. the sooner he gets food.

It would be awesome, if my dog would be that easy to handle 😅 he's a lovely dog, but if he sees the nail clippers, he is fighting for his life 🙈😂😂😂 he's not biting and he doesn't hurt anyone, but he would fight, so you don't even have the chance to hold on to the paw longer than 1 second 😅 and because of his size he is sooo strong 🤣🤣🤣 you can do anything with him, but not clipping the nails 🙈😅

Same here. Zero chance this will work with my Newfoundland. Too strong. Too big. Too sensitive. Don’t know what to do.
@buddyandme0511 Жыл бұрын
@@SanPedro22 I bought a nail grinder, because it's way easier to desensitize a dog to a nail grinder than to nail clippers and it works perfectly fine. We trained almost 4 weeks until my dog was used to it, but now it works really good 👍🏻
