Wish I had dipped my feet in the water when I was there. Never thought of doing it. Edit: I never even thought of taking a bathing suit to Scotland.

Why did you get rid of the van? I loved the way you had kitted it out for overnight stops

A trip to Montreux and no mention of the Grand Hotel? Made famous by Deep Purple's 'Smoke on the Water', and where they recorded the album 'Machine Head'.

AZwesome start to what will be a great trip to NFLD. Remember it wasn't part of Canada until 1949. I was stationed in Nova Scotia with the Canadian Navy and regret never visiting NFLD. Now I'm retired in BC and it may be too late to get there.

In my experience, the Yotel can be more expensive than some of the proper hotels on site, there is a Travelodge just off site from the north terminal that is normally the cheapest, about 5 minutes walk. The Yotel is handy if you have a long transfer and just want 4 or 5 hours sleep or a shower.

Great video guys! I thought St John’s would be more expensive and difficult to get to. Am booking this!

That was a excellent watch. Can`t wait till the next installment. You should at some time try a capsule hotel, then you will really know the meaning of cramped confined space. That yotel that you stayed was vast in comparison. Nothing better to start a trip with the locals being helpful.

Hi Steve, I have only just found your channel whilst looking for some Harris & Lewis videos, which I really enjoyed. We spent a wonderful 2 weeks holiday on H&L last year and instantly fell in love with the place. We are hoping to return next year for another adventure. We was wondering what the things were at the side of the road as well, we was told by one of the locals that they are bus shelters so you can shelter from the elements no matter which way the wind was blowing. I'm looking forward to watching some more of your videos. Thanks for sharing! Dave

Be as well staying in Scotland. Weather wet, foggy and overcast - just like home. Friends of mine just back from Vancouver. Rainy and stormy nearly every day. Hope the weather bucks up for you but I won’t be rushing off to Canada. Will stick to Southern California. 🤦

That robot 'waiter-cat'... you expect it in Japan or South Korea, not in a small town in Lithuania. Looks good though... and that robot is better than some human waiters/waitresses I've experienced.

My favourite place on earth is Argyll. The colours are so vivid. I love Oban and the west coast islands. Look at that blue sky.

Yes the Isles of silly are part of Cornwall. Owned by the duchy of Cornwall king Charles and the The Dorrien-Smith family on Tesco. I grew up on the Isles of Scilly on st Mary's where my father was the dentist for more than 25 years- Barrie Fairest 1. He was also in charge of the fire brigade on the island as well. I'm glad that you got to see these beautiful Islands, however, to appreciate these beautiful Islands in all their glory you need to spend at least 7 days there. If you want a good pint and good food if you ever visit the islands again, I can recommend the Mermaid pub just on the left-hand side as you turn into hugh town off the Quay from the scillonian. It's good to see that you took a good long walk to old town add to the garrison with the famous castle. Hope you had a really good day my friend. Safe travels my friend 🙏 Subscribed.

I would rather have sleepted in the airport on the floor no way could l sleep in that small box. Butlers Empire utubeers found a hotel outside of the airport which was a proper room and not far to travel in the morning. There was a bus, hope that’s helpful for next time.

A GREAT video, and I look forward to seeing the visiting Canada series. My wife (born in Bridge of Allan) went with her patents to Newfoundland as a teenager. Her father was a dentist (obviously Scots, too, but then living on Teesside), and she tells me the people there would think nothing of driving 100 miles or more just to meet & greet them in Canada whilst they stayed with friends/extended family. She loved the Maritime Provinces and the friendly people.

@@steve-marsh As an old (very old) American, I could see many places in my country you and Alicja would enjoy, but you would be hard pressed to find folks as welcoming and kind as you find in Canada. One of my personal regrets is that I haven't spent more time there. I appreciate the window to the world you provide. Found your brief travels to the Nordic nations to be very interesting. Hope you make it back there soon. Moldova? Eh, not so much. :) I wish you every success.

WestJet has gone from the best airline in Canada to the worst. Seeing your flight was sad. A small plane on a transatlantic flight with no video screens? Meals served in a cardboard box? That's just sad. When I head over to the UK I certainly won't be going WestJet@

Great you made it to Nfld and Labrador! What a great province it is. FYI the best weather is late July into October -- at least on the Avalon Peninsula -- it's like one month behind the rest of Canada. Once you're off the peninsula, the weather is pretty much regular Canada. In St. John's the weather can be a hit or a miss: one year I spent in St.John's in the 1990s was incredible -- beautiful weather throughout the entire year, and another year it was awful. But I hope you got to visit the fluvarium, Cape St. Mary's, and check out some of the local trails. Also, the St. John's webcams are fun to watch when there are storms -- especially the George Street webcam and watch the folks come out of the bars all liquoured up and face a big blizzard or wind storm (like I've done!!). LOL

I am SO excited to see you where I live! Been looking forward to this since your pub crawl. When the video showed you at the YYT bus stop, my husband said “sure we would have picked them up if we knew they were here!” - so glad someone else did 🙂. Can’t wait to see the rest of this series (yippee!) After watching your videos nightly for the past 6 months, it is surreal to see you walking around my neighbourhoods 🥰
