Omg I loved the commentary.. I’m kinda gonna rant here abt my own life but!! I related in the way that some adults paint your dreams in a bad way so you kinda just end up not knowing what to do. Around my senior high school I started loving to draw characters but I never considered it as a career because most people here in my country kinda looks down on more artistic careers saying they don’t pay well and all and I never had confidence in myself so I always thought that even if I did, the field was too competitive given how many other much better artists already exists. But I still wanted to do something where I got to sort of design or draw something.. but the only thing I could think of that my parents would also like is architecture.. except for me it only went downhill from there. At the beginning of my 1st year as an archi student it was almost like I was just gaslighting myself that I enjoyed it. There were so much more things I didn’t enjoy than I thought I would and I was never good in maths either. I never drew houses in the first place. I always drew characters but I felt like I had no other choice at the time cause archi is also what my parents wanted. I ended up in a bad place mentally(not just because of this but also partly my relationship with my parents) and the feeling of not enjoying any of my works as an archi student caught up to me especially since being so busy with them made me unable to draw things that I really liked. I was really negative with myself and eventually thought. What’s the point of all this when I just end up hating my own drawings? It used to be so much fun just drawing things I liked but now it felt like if I touched my paper or canvas it’ll always only lead to disappointment. I feel like this is also why there’s actual architects out there that even discourage people to take the course because it really is difficult, much more so if it really isn’t your passion. I always regretted that I never took the time to properly look into what I really wanted but also it felt like I didn’t even have the time to and that my choice had to be final as soon as possible because I was already graduating high school. I’m even still pretty lost right now and is just trying to recover from depression that led me to have a hard time drawing and passing things for school.. so I eventually decided to just drop the course. I felt out of place too, seeing my classmates working hard and dreaming about being an architect meanwhile I’m just there. Suffering. I tried to love it, really. But I realized that really wasn’t the place for me. I’m still trying to get back into drawing now.. and I have been slowly starting to enjoy it and wanting to keep drawing again. I’m also thinking about taking animation next school year.. I’m still unsure how this will all go but I’m really hoping it’ll turn out for the better since I also got into a lot of trouble from my parents about dropping archi.. it’s also pretty discouraging when my own mom doesn’t like digital art, especially anime-ish/cartoon-ish styles (which is how I draw) but I’m gonna try it still, since this is the last chance my parents are giving me in funding my education. Anyways I’m sorry for all the trauma dumping and thank you if you made it through reading this far. I love the build in the video so much as well as your commentary!! ❤

But honestly, putting yourself out there is the best way to become comfy! I also was obsessed with all the fashion games and LOVED Covet fashion, High School Story (oh and also used to play episode). I never considered architecture but tbh that is a really good way to do interior design! Fashion lovers are usually really into design since it’s a similar field.
