June 11th, 1898. Blackwater Ledger. "Reports of a small invasion force believing to be from Cuba have landed near the southern region of Lemoyne earlier two days ago. The Blackwater Ledger has received several reports and testimonies from civilians who witnessed the skirmish take place. We know that Colonel Henry Favours, the commander of Fort Wallace and the US Army's New Hanover Division was present at the skirmish, due to being in Rhodes for a meeting of sorts. Upon learning that the Cuban Invasion Force had landed, he sent an urgent telegram to the 7th Lemoyne Infantry Regiment stationed across the Lannahechee River in Briggs, Lemoyne (the area across the river that can't be accessed by normal means) to muster in Rhodes and to meet the invasion force in battle. The battle took place at Bolger Glade, the site of the now-infamous (Quincy) Harris Escape, during the War of Northern Aggression. However, Colonel Favours' involvement in the battle and his whereabouts afterwards are unknown at this time. We know that there was one survivor of the battle who managed to escape and got word to Fort Wallace. As of today, June 11th, 1898, the US Army New Hanover Division is mobilizing all across the region, preparing for an all-out Defensive against the Cuban Invasion Force. And as this journalist is looking out the window of the Blackwater Ledger building, I can see the Morningstar Ferry at the Blackwater Harbor loading an assortment of US Army infantry, the West Elizabeth "Bloody 3rd" Infantry Regiment majority among them, to take them to Saint Denis, as the Cuban Invasion Force has taken the city. Elements of the New Austin 11th Cavalry, 9th Infantry, 31st Light Artillery Regiment, and 4th Cavalry are said to be making the journey north to aid in the Saint Denis offensive. We are also getting word that the regional lawmen are also making the trip with the Army. At this time, the Saint Denis Times has gone completely dark. The United States have dealt with the Del Lobo gang up until the time of the Fort Mercer battle, and the deal lobos were on the brink of collapse. They had their last stand at Fort Mercer, where they planned to stay and fight until the last man standing. Since the Mexican forces were dwindled in the recent skirmish and ambush at Gaptooth Breach, The Mexican ministry of defense had hired a Cuban Mercenary group under the command of Alberto Fussar, for over 150,000 dollars (Worth a lot today) as the tides closed in, the Cuban Mercenaries had met their rivals at the Fort, where they began their offensive. The ensuing battle resulted in a victory by the Cuban forces, ending the Rio Bravo insurrection, and seeing the leader of the Del Lobo gang, Alfredo Montez, arrested and hung in Mexico City.

BREAKING NEWS: The US Army has sent in troops to Guarma to retrieve the Van Der Linde Gang. The Van Der Linde Gang has made a name for themselves in this day and age as a group of degenerate murderers, collecting a massive head on their bounties. They announced that they had the entire gang, and demanded close to $100,000. When the US Army found out they only captured 5 of the Van Der Lindes, the US Army attempted to lower the price to the combined bounties of Dutch Van Der Linde, Arthur Morgan, Micah Bell, Javier Escuella and Bill Williamson. The Cuban Army kept trying to raise the price until the US Army launched an invasion. The invasion proved a complete failure for the United States, with many men being killed. The Van Der Lindes continue to be held hostage.

BREAKING NEWS: Yet another massacre in Blackwater has occurred. This time between the Blackwater Police Department and the US Army. After Police Chief Dunbar was accused of treason after helping the Wapiti reservation by stealing from the US army, the army ordered his execution. To the army’s surprise, the Blackwater police department disagreed to hand him over. After that, they came onto the shore with a large margin of soldiers ready to open fire, entering a massive gunfight. The fight ended in a U.S. Army victory, and since the 5 months it has occurred, Blackwater has become home to outlaws. Due to the lack of Police force and many residents leaving the once advanced and thriving city, outlaws started moving in. Most notably, the skinner brothers. Today, Blackwater has become a ghost town, very unsafe for the few people still living there.
