Thank you for sharing such an heartfelt and personal video. To know that you bring so many people true joy and open their eyes to some beautiful country just on KZfaq alone. Then there are those who've had the good fortune of riding with you on your rides. That's something amazing you're sharing with the world. For all that joy you've brought people, you too are deserving of equal or even more joy and happiness. I truly wish you the best as you navigate the rocky terrain and precipitous cliffs of mental health challenges. Lots of us out here pulling for you! 🥰

Frankly, I think you are giving Honda too much slack. An engine should run and not flame out, period. As for the small tank capacity, this seems to be the way things are with other manufacturers, too. Maybe saving the weight of one litre boosts the power to weight ratio a little on the spec sheets and attracts the testosterone-fueled younger blokes (as I once once was), but when you get out in the dirt, you need a bike that you can enjoy riding. Damn the spec sheets. Having to mod a new bike to make it an acceptable ride makes no sense, in my book, especially considering the price. I am not anti Honda, having owned the first CB750 back in the day, but Honda should be considered to have 'dropped the ball' selling a bike with this many negative issues.

KTM is still vastly superior… I’ve owned many different brands of enduro bikes and the only one that has IT in strides is KTM. Competition is good though because that means KTM will also continuing innovating and improving

About the rides: They're really, really good!" So back in about 1990 I brought a friend along to Moab from CA. He was a newer mountain biker and had never been before. But he was fit, strong and young (like we all were!). So after ride #1, my friend says, "Oh man, that ride was AWESOME! Can we do it again tomorrow?" I replied, "Yes, that was amazing, wasn't it? I'd LOVE to ride it again, but I have ANOTHER great ride planned for tomorrow!" He said no problem. Then after ride #2, my friend says, "Oh man, THAT ride was AWESOME too! Can we do it again tomorrow?" I replied, "Yes, that was ANOTHER amazing ride, wasn't it? I'd LOVE to ride it again, but I have ANOTHER great ride planned for tomorrow!" He understood. Then after ride #3, my friend says, "Oh man, THAT ride was AWESOME too! Can we do it again tomorrow?" I replied laughing, "Yes, that was ANOTHER amazing ride, wasn't it? I'd LOVE to ride it again, but as I've said already twice, I have YET ANOTHER great ride planned for tomorrow!" Totally cracked me up. It was just so funny how excited he was about each ride and wanting to ride them again. There was just too much to do. He was treated to a solid week of truly wonderful Moab rides. Such great memories. I imagine your rallies fall squarely into this category! I simply LOVE southern Utah and cannot get enough of it. PS I hadn't spoken to him in 30 years when I reconnected a few years ago. He's never been totally into riding. He said he did a job where he received a sweet Santa Cruz carbon full suspension bike in lieu of payment. He said, "I'm totally not worthy of this sweet bike." I replied, "Au Contraire, man! ANYONE who's ridden Moab fully rigid deserves the BEST mountain bike on the market!!!"

Adv helmets have much larger shields and wider field of view which is essential when riding trails. Try using a street helmet even on gravel roads. You are going to struggle picking a line.

great content, thanks. I would only ask that folks take lightly your comment (I'm sure you didn't mean it this way) that the "heavy armored boot is going to make things really hard to shift". Maybe harder, but after you get used to it and or adjust your shift lever angle by a notch or so if needed, you'll be so used to it you won't need to think about it. As an emt, i take "tib fib" and ankle injury seriously, so i only wear mx boots (i wear sidi atojo - for larger toe box) as a dual sporter, but even when i ride only street.

Best bike I have ever owned. (I'm old, I have owned more than a few) I do not plan on selling it. I have Gucci'd the F out of it and the cost per smile (you read that right) is completely irrelevant. I LOVE the KTM 500 EXC-F. The 350 and 250 EXC-F are also fantastic bikes.

I can't wear goggles with my glasses. Not even the ones that claim that you can. Next pair of glasses will be smaller. Also you mention that it doesn't do either jobs well but I argue they do. If you are like me and you have 3 bikes, 2 dual sport (2 xt 350s) and a road bike ( 04 shadow) you have choices. I don't ride in such of a way I need roost protection but the visor is enough to make a difference in the sun. the XTs don't see much Hi-way duty so the wind on said visor isn't as much of an issue. I dont wanna use my sena equipped road helmet in the dirt when the dual sport has a cheap amazon unit that keeps me in touch with my friends that works just fine. (also phone and music..when I want.) I have many helmets of all types I use a full faces most of the time but I have and use hafies too. I kinda figure it this way: The best helmet is the one you have on. It is meant to protect your head... that is all, everything else is gravy. If it is comfortable you will wear, it if not you will avoid it.

Love this format Tyler - its a great way to showcase what you are trying to achieve and pulling for your father as well as his plans for a family gathering place. What a great plan for the future. You continue to be an inspiration and I look forward to doing another rally with you again in the future. I wouldn't be doing this without your voice in my head on repeat...."you can do this!"....and yes I can!

Good job man. Most of this is second nature to me as a 30 year competitive mt biker, but still totally useful to me as a brand new dirt/dual-sport motorcyclist. And I definitely have to return to St.George sometime, but now with an engine under me.

I have mine at 50k km its holding up really well the parts are not expensive as long as you do its maintanance regular I dont think you will have any problems. Of course you shouldnt push it too much as well it cant be considered as an off road bike but I think its a decent beginner adventure bike.
@gorgias14739 күн бұрын
I did a lot of loaded with also passanger long road rides on it as well you cant expect too much from it but its pretty good and fun only complaint I would have is the engine size could be bigger so you could maintain high speeds on the highway.

I love the bike.I've already put four thousand dollars of m o d s into it

So I'm wanting to get a bike to do everything. I was going to get a dzr400 but found this video. Which bike do you prefer as your go to street and dirt bike? It seems like the wr250f is more capable? But what about power, weight and service intervals? Drz or wrf?

Bravo sir. I just wanted to say thank you for being here and sharing this video. Your older videos were some of the first videos I encountered when I got into adventure riding. Riding in general for myself and I think so many others is therapy. In my own life Jesus Christ has been my savior he pulled me out of those dark places. I pray that you find your rest in him. Isaiah 41:10.

Tyler, of course I'm watching. I hope your dad is doing well and treatment goes smoothly. I love you brother and I am also sad about the bike going up for sale. I have some time to recover. I do love riding more than anything. Tearing my ACL and Meniscus in December have also had me down. The lakota that I flew in for work actually went down from a drone strike from Mexico, and two airmen and a Border patrol Agent were killed. Toning it down is my mantra now. I'm sure I will get back on the bike but I need a good year or more to recover from everything.

If Steve is like me, I’m in my 40’s, idk how to tone down my riding. In my heart I’m still 18. I’m ripping around the motocross track. I have pain that slows me down some, but I hope to ride till my 60’s at least.

I loved this video and the heartfelt message you had for making this for your dad. One thing I would include for each of these clips if you plan to do more of these clip reviews that may be cool to the audience is the riders bike, age, and experience in one of the corners during each clip. I think it would add great value to these trips and show the variety of people and bikes you've lead around these rallies. Best wishes to your Dad.

Im generally a 10 Wide shoe and wear an 11 Bike boot. I agree with the shin guards fitting much better a boot size bigger and the toe smash room.

Hello Tyler. First of all best wishes for your Dad and your family. I just finished my radiation treatment and things have a come a long way in fighting this disease. I lived in Saint George for 11 years and we meet on a great trail out in Warner Valley when we crossed paths and landed in one of your videos. We talked about riding Toquerville together the next day but sadly it didn’t happen. I love what you do, wish you continued success always and may surprise you one day on one of your rides or when our pass cross again out in the desert. Michael, Adventure Moto Addict!
