First things first. TRUST YOUR EYES!! PFF and I often don't see the same thing. Stick and Spiller, especially Spiller got every opportunity to play like they belong. They didn't. They had a practice squad when they had a 16 game season. If youbare truly trying to keep injuries down you would think the owners would increase the roster at least two spots or more. It just makes sense. Morris Brash has flat out beaten Rumphf. He has played better than Chris Rumphf. WELCOME TART!! Can't argue with your takes as always a good show.

That only applies to the emergency rule on gameday, not creation of the 53 man roster. If they keep a 3rd QB, one other player would still have to hit waivers. -Alex

Good analysis. Weaknesses (as I see it): Easton Stick, Jaimes, Sarrell, Harper & Finley. I hope one of the UDFAs give Sarell a competition on Saturday. May push for a spot: Fehoko (instead of Rice), TE4 (Parham) Will be claimed through waivers from the practice squad: Morris-Brash (not ok b/c Bosa will be on IR at some point), Spiller (ok).

I think we need to worry less about the back up QB situation. How many times in superbowl history has a back up mattered for the team winning a ring? Once with Nick Foles? Any others? I can't think of any. Fact is if Herbert goes down we're more likely to benefit from tanking with a crap back up QB than we are to benefit from sneaking an extra win or 2 and pushing our draft pick down the board. I'd put more weight into the back up mattering when we are expected to contend (possibly next season) but for this season alone all a good back up can do is ruin draft positioning. I know its a sad way to think about your own team but I think it's pragmatic and ultimately correct
@guiltyascharged77522 күн бұрын
I think it matters a whole lot more for sorting other position battles out than it does in the win loss column. Better QB play leads to more drives and more opportunities for the supporting cast to shine around that backup QB.
@WillCooking2 күн бұрын
@@guiltyascharged7752 Yeah I get that element - I just think the numerous hours in training camp are more important for that than a few drives in a few pre season games. Its nice to see a guy do it on the field but in reality no one is playing their best players and no one is running their best plays in pre season game regardless so you still don't see loads. I think its a massively over rated element of season prep and even joint practices are more valuable
