Tbh I am mentally ill and love Sanrio LOL. Not helping the stigma but....IDC But on a serious note, I think this is a thing because a lot of mentally ill people honestly do look to Sanrio for comfort. I mean....just a glimpse of the aesthetic feels like being wrapped in a big, fluffy comforter. It's no wonder it's so attractive to those who are going through the worst times. It is also very childlike and appealing to children. And since trauma is often related to childhood, I think it speaks to everybody's inner child. I think it's rather sweet. I get my authentic Sanrio from pop culture conventions so like celebrity anime kinda of cosplay places they sell loads of authentic Sanrio plushes I didn’t even know existed I do get fake ones also from a little clearance store but recently I’ve been supporting Sanrio a lot and been buying a few on eBay but usually my authentic stuff is from shopping centres and stores with licences Sanrio such as big w, kmart and gaming stores unfortunately in Australia we r rly limited, most of the Sanrio authentic Japanese cute core stuff is brought from actual ppl who went to Japan and brought it over to sell which is nice love Sanrio so much 😊😊
