Might be worth looking into a hot start relay. I put one on my bug and it has helped tremendously. Simple to hook up too.

@michaelgideon6422 I hope it works out! Be wary, the relay I received was wired improperly when I received it. It's worth double checking their work.

Nonsense ! I bought a 911 long wood from 69 and restored it completely , now it is worth twice as much as I spend for the junk car plus restoration .

I kick myself for not buying one of these 15 years ago for 6500 or 8500 when l came across it,here in Montana. It was red and ran, now l would have to sell my Boxster and Barracuda and some Guitars to get basically get that same car.Enjoy those mountain twistys!

Oh yeah I’ve also bought a bunch of cars as shells with everything in boxes. Great way to get a deal on a classic but it’s always sad to see the guys who’ve been defeated by the process.

so amazing to see, Michael! you and Chris are absolute heroes for undertaking such a project and actually succeeding! it working so well during the overcrest rally on its maiden voyage is a true testament to how well you and chris know these cars. you should be real proud! the shop i occasionaly help at with porsche matters, here in Madrid, Spain, usually takes about three years to complete a car.... sending my boss your video immediately! very kind regards from a fellow porsche enthusiast from across the pond :)

Thanks Pablo! I've owned this car almost three years now. It was at perfect lines for about a year. I'm still very surprised how well it did on the rally! We filmed this video less than two months ago. A shop helped with a lot of the mechanical work between this video and the rally, so I certainly won't take credit for doing all the work. Appreciate the comment, and would love to visit you guys in Spain someday. Cheers

i loved my 912 back in the 70s but always fearful it would break down and bankrupt me like it did the previous owner but it never had a problem just rust in front pan to suspension but back then only 400 to fix

Concerning the muffler - have a look onto Bisimoto's Pulse Chamber. This might be the lightest muffler you can get for the 911. Also you gain more power and torque...

You clearly have the right attitude. The old line about driving a slow car fast is true. Heal and toe, find the peak power while you are in the correct gear and you can make it hustle. It is a proper car in the truest sense because you have to work the brakes and steering much more so than in a modern car. It's all about feedback from the tires, the steering wheel, the brakes, and the seat of your pants. Do not give up.
