亀裂が見つかって、一時、クラス800系列の全車両が運行停止になった。亀裂の原因は、金属材料に生じやすい経年損傷の一種である「応力腐食」だった。塩害はさらにそれを深めた。 リフティング部分の亀裂は全編成の約50%に及び、ヨーダンパーのブラケット接続部（角のような部分）では約10％に及んだ。 クラス385近郊型電車やクラス395通勤用高速電車でも、クラス800系列ほどではないにせよ同様の亀裂が見つかっている。 やはり「重量貨物列車等も走る軌道の歪みもある在来線」での「140～200㎞/hの」高速列車のこれらの部分への負荷は凄まじいものがある。 高精度で軌道が整備され、特定の車両のみが走る日本の新幹線を除くと、日本の在来線特急列車の最高速度はおおむね130㎞/h以下だ。 『日本は140～200㎞/hでの「在来線での」運行経験がほとんどない。』。盲点が出てしまった形だ。 塩害についても、GWR線等の海水を大量にかぶるシーンを見て、私も、これはマズイ！と思ったけれども、やはりそうなってしまった。日立は少し安易に考えすぎたキライがある。

いつも拝見しています。 私の推し車両のバリ展ということであまり文句は言いたくないのですが、床下周りの流用がちょっと萎えますね…「タイプ」と呼んだ方がいいくらい…いっそのことClass 801に改造してしまおうとか考えています ちなみにですが、台車の成型色が5両編成版より黒っぽくなっていませんか？

まぁ、日本の鉄道会社も航空会社も大手はいろんなとこから車両を導入してるしメーカーを一極集中して寡占になるのもまずいし妥当な判断だよね。

I'm still waiting for my pre-order here in Europe. But at leat you came out with a review. slightly disappointed that KATO still haven't added some more details that was missing on the last class 800. especially to the undercarriage as it looks rather empty and just has a standard plastic grey color. I hope they step-up the amount of detail for the future. And I might attempt to add certain details myself to make it look less of a toy. And that's really the only big or noticeable downside I got.

Managed to get one with the avanti livery as used but as in brand new condition for £395. I have yet to receive it as I just orded it. I was lucky as I was looking thru pre-owned items and saw that it had just come in.

In Canada and the US, the word "Interurban" is used for faster street-running electric trains that connect neighboring cities. The Keishin Line is an example of an Interurban line. Great content!
