Prior to departing San Diego back in 2013 for Aberdeen, WA,, the wife and I had the wonderful opportunity to eat at The Grill for 3 consecutive days to use up a gift certificate. During one of the lunches, Daniel was saying hello to the patrons and we talked with him a bit as I was having this very good dish. Fine young man and come to find out, he left the Lodge a year later and relocated up to Portland, OR and is the head chef at Bar West. We reconnected with him there a few years later and he's obviously done well as he's still there! Cheers Daniel!

After 16 years in San Diego, the wife and I trekked back to Aberdeen, WA in 2020 and to this day, we still miss the incomparable Torrey Pines Lodge - and our fav, The Grill. Had the opportunity to meet this fine young man there, ordered this great hamburger, and he's right, you won't taste a better one - anywhere! Chef Daniel actually ended up relocating to the PNW and now lives in Portland, OR. We paid him a visit at his new employ awhile back and he's doing very well! Cheers Daniel!

Love it! We had a great time contributing on this project.

After 16 years in lovely San Diego, we left Cal back on March 5, 2020 for the far greener tax pastures of Aberdeen, WA! Bar none, Torrey Pines is forever indelibly locked into our memory and will always be our favorite getaway place ever as nothing else could ever compare to it and its spectacular setting! And within TP, our favorite outstanding lunch destination was always The Grill! In fact, we had a month before we left to excitedly use up a $375 gift certificate and we did so with 4 lovely lunches there! Outstanding food, incomparable ambience, never rushed, and impeccable service - always! Of note, during one of our prior lunches there back in 2018 I believe, we actually saw the amazing Mexican masons building that massive one-of-a-kind outdoor grill/oven and then later learned on a subsequent lunch that they mortared off the oven vent to the chimney making it sadly useless. So, it was nice to see that you got it repaired and working and wish we could have partaken in this event. Perhaps in the future on a visit to family down there!
