I have diabetes and just found out. I noticed I was craving candy, doughnuts, and fried food. I just couldn't get enough, then became so tired afterwards. I slept, and slept till the next morning for work, and let's not count the wake ups in the middle of the night. The toilet was my best friend, especially after needing water so much. I thought I was anemic instead. I had night swelling in the lower extremities of my legs. Swollen ankles and feet. Thought it was from long hours of standing during work. I knew as it got worse, my joints became so sore and stiff. My hands had tingling in them all the time, and my urine started smelling like sugar.... sweet sugar. I finally went to doctors because the fatigue and loss appetite had gotten worse. Did a urine test. The doctor said, you have diabetes, she did a glucose test. The glucose level was 198. I said huh, what's that? She said, you have high blood sugar. I'm not gonna let it beat me, I'm gonna beat it, by lowering my sugar levels, and eating healthy. I caught it early, I hope because of the swelling. I'm getting checked for kidney functioning. At 47, I thought diabetes was for older people, but diabetes doesn't have an age limit or how young you think you can't catch it.

Can lithium and mood stabilizers cause kidney issues that don't show up for 10 years or more after stipping the meds? Or will the kidneys repair themselves?

Also, ask your Pharmacist (not the tech), about your medications. They are usually happy to do this, in my experience, and often know more about the specific medication and combinations of medications you may be on than your prescriber does.

Interesting that you would say, “Find You Would Say, Find a Doctor You Can Trust” Because that’s almost impossible especially if you are a person of color. If you ask to many questions, they get aggressive. Especially if they say let’s try this. I did my research on one heart doctor in Silicon Valley who wasn’t even from this country, who was in charge of older people and he didn’t even have a doctor degree. And what about drinking alkaline water and which level is best⁉️

I'm about to stop talking blood pressure meds. Omg thanks Doc, i have to stop talking meds. Yes I've been taking pain meds for years. That's probably why i have fatty liver. Don't know about my kidneys, but I'm having issues. Stomach bloated , i don't go to the bathroom number 2 just back up. Calling for coloni cleaning tomorrow take more seamoss etc. Omg thanks Doc.

My pain dr gave me NSAIDS, and I said I was taking ibuprofen 800mgs a day but no one warned me at all. I did hear about contrast dye, but never NSAIDS, people need to be told!! I now have CKD. I feel sad about it & also that I’m now in more pain than ever. I don’t think people who take drugs every day understand the amount of water they need. Thanks for the heads up about asking for fluids with contrast dye.

I experienced all these symptoms when drinking a monster energy drink on a empty stomach, i knew i had to go to the emergency room cause i looked it up, so i just waited it out. Never drinking energy drinks after that.
