make note that the players land on BOTH feet. If the player lands on the same foot as the push off, that is a travel. So make sure that there is no distinguishing between the feet. If there is, only left-rightleft is allowed (or right-leftright)

It's not. Gather doesn't happen until you have both hands on the ball. Doesn't matter which foot you push off it's part of the dribble.

@@kenjlee dunno about your ruleset, mine doesn't discuss both hands, but when it is at rest, i.e when you start carrying it. That is in this case done when one foot is down on the floor, pushing off for the hop. Thus, ending the dribble

As long as you land on both feet simultaneously after your initial step than it's not a travel.

No you hop as you dribble so you are already moving when the ball isn’t in your hands then you recover the ball because you hopped into it

Depending on what direction you are hopping, if you were to hop right your right foot goes off the ground but land with left foot first, then right. If you landed right foot first it would be a travel
