Finally someone else in our Doom community who enjoys Doom 3 for the horror game it is I cover all the classics as well as requested wads on my channel it's intended to be guided walkthroughs and I am saving Doom 3 for when I get the upgraded computer setup so I can show it off in all of its spooky Glory excellent list my friend I agree with just about everything though I am a huge fan of TNT that would have been higher on my list just because of the immersive atmosphere it actually feels like you're on a space mission to clear out the demons it doesn't try to be hard just for the sake of it and doom 2016 I'm doing a run through now on the channel really enjoying it so far from one Doom tuber to another you've got my sub my friend

Top 10 series of all time here, forever one of the best. Here's how i rank em 👇. 6. Doom 64 (the first survival horror doom and it's a damn good one, it may not be as good as doom 3 but still dope) 5. Doom 3 (i don't mind the survival horror feel the game was going for but it hasn't aged as well as the next games. I just prefer the action horror dooms more but still a great game nonetheless) 4. Doom 2016 (if it wasn't for it's short length it could've been ahead of the next one atleast but still an amazing game) 3. Doom 1 (most important, influential fps ever made. doom and it's clones wouldn't exist if it not for this game nor would boomer shooters either. still an amazing game to this day, classic). 2. Doom eternal (though this may be objectively the best game in the series but i personally prefer 1 more. but this one is a masterpiece for sure, the dark ages is going to have a tough time topping this one). 1. Doom 2 (for me, the best doom. It holds strong nostagia for me, has that legendary status, best soundtrack, best dlc/add-ons and an absolute blast to play, straight masterpiece).

Manhacks can work, if you have the gravity gun, cuz then they become basically chainsaws that you can shoot, or use as chainsaws... They're absolutely aggravating, especially with default Half-Life 2 gameplay, if you don't have the gravity gun lol.. and they're still pretty aggravating even if you do have actual gameplay modded in, outside of the gravity gun that turns them into chainsaws... Like there's a gameplay that can be had, but it it really needs to have that gravity gun lol.. you can manage them, shoot them out so that they get out of your way and have to loop back.. while you take one and go to town and then ditch it by shooting it into somebody when one of them catches back up to you, and it's like a whole thing.. and it's fun and it's interesting and cool.. But without that they are the tiny little robot enemy that's hard to hit with the hit scan melee weapon, and a waste of ammo for everything else lol.

Wow, for second there I thought you were punching down on a half-life mod lol.. I had heard of this but the, it seemed to be missing information that this was for money lol.. at least hunt down the Freeman had you know.. like content of some kind.. like you know you could lean left and right or something.. crouch more, took advantage of some basic source shenanigans in the weapons.. like it did things.. This is just the Half-Life 2 mod for money.. Go figure, that that's pretty lame I guess.. I guess that's too bad the period cuz you know I have conflict conflict of feelings about if mods should be paid or not.. That's definitely a it depends answer but.. I guess anybody selling a game with the basic shooting of Half-Life 2 in 2023.. or 24 or whatever.. and doing so in a way that makes it more difficult to unf... And add things like you know, era 2004 gameplay or shooting or something.. probably not getting my money. Could this be the most classic of asset flips?

5:38 The devs of this might not’ve listened to much Valve commentary. I specifically remember a section of it that talks about subtly guiding the player with things like lighting and whatnot, so that the player has less of those “where do I even go now” moments. Things like that will matter in the long run.

I disagree with you about not letting valve sell this. Valve isn’t going to make another half life game let alone another sequel to half life 2 or its episodes. Why not allow competent models keep this series alive? Weird take.

Valve just released Alyx mere years ago. I didn't say no fan made half-life games should be made. I even talked about black mesa absolutely deserving valve's stamp of approval. Games like hunt down the freeman and prospekt should not be allowed. You're asking valve to open the flood gates to paid half-life games with absolutely no quality control.

In some ways I'd honestly rather play HDTF than this because at least HDTF is interesting in how bad it's made. This game is honestly just a lot of nothing. The awful writing, strange mechanics and bad level design in hunt down the freeman can at least make it fun to laugh at.

This sounds kinda weird but I think HTDF is better than this because at least it tried something different gameplay wise, meanwhile prospekt still feels like a map pack, I understand controversy surrounding HTDF and it deserves hate for various reasons but as a game it has been improved by another team, too bad they are doing voluntary work and not getting paid for making one of the worst half life related content ever made into something enjoyable to the point and you will think you wasted little amount of money

I hate to be cliche and fall into one of the categories you began with but I absolutely LOVE infinite it blew my mind and has one of the greatest stories ever in a video game in my opinion. Yea sure it has some issues but to me they're all minor and don't take away from the game at large.
@petermj1098
@petermj1098 16 сағат бұрын
The game is a good game but a bad Bioshock game. Bioshock is about Objectivism and Rapture. If Kevin Levine made an entirely new franchise about Christian fundamentalism and Columbia it would have been better. It being a Bioshock game held it back.
@ObsidiusPrime
@ObsidiusPrime 13 сағат бұрын
@@petermj1098 I would honestly say that's a bit too specific of a description. To me that would be like saying Half-Life is only about the Black Mesa facility and the consequences of opening pandora's box. With that logic Half-Life 2 is a bad Half-Life game. Bioshock is to me about a dystopian society and the effects of political extremism (there are more specific terms you could use instead of political but I'm pretty tired and don't want to be more specific right now). But with that criteria I'd say bioshock infinite hit the nail right on the head. It was just looking at the same concept but in a different city looking at a different political extreme.

I think Hunt Down the Freeman is a legendarily terrible game because of the well-animated, but horribly written cutscenes. Some of the lines in it make me reach the cringe singularity with their attempts at edge and depth.

@@EnclaveRemnantFanboy-118 The animation is quality work. I wouldn't be surprised if it was supposed to be a movie. I've dabbled with SFM so I know how finicky and annoying that program can be. Shame those great animations are set to such a terrible script.

I think the issue wasn't valve giving their stamp of approval, it was the liscensing terms for the source engine. so that mod teams could sell their games they had liscensing terms where for around $50k or something, you get not just commercial release rights to your source engine game, but also relatively large usage rights to valve IP, characters, 3d models, textures, etc. to ease the transition of a mod to a full release. a few bad actors have taken advantage of this.
@JackWse
@JackWse Күн бұрын
So it's less than 50K and that's entirely for the havok middleware licensing if my understanding is correct... Valve doesn't take a cut from that, but I could be wrong about if it used to.. But currently that's how it stands.. It might also be more than 50K I've heard numbers anywhere from 5 to what have you, 50 is definitely on the up there though.. although it wouldn't surprise me honestly. either way, like before unreal in the post three era... that was quite a deal, if only they had you know documentation and tools and whatnot at the time.. source could have really been something, and I wish it had.

"the direction feels unintuitive" I've noticed this a lot with mods and other fan projects. They're very bad at giving the proper set dressing to show the route you want to go. That's OK if they game is based around exploration, but when it's a corridor shooter and you're stumbling around blindly for ten minutes between each firefight it's not much fun. That's one advantage bigger studios have: lots of playtesters to find out where everyone gets stuck and alter things accordingly, hopefully in a way far nicer and more thematically appropriate than the memed yellow paint.

I'd love a sequel where Gordon Freeman teams up with Adrian Shepherd after the cliffhanger ending in Opposing Force, but unless Valve takes their time and really dedicates all their efforts in making a great sequel, I'll be fine with just imagining the idea in my head. Scientist and soldier teaming up; crowbar and *insert signature weapon of Shepherd*. I won't lose sleep over it.
