I met some travelers from Boston and I started singing this song under my breath at work. It’s that great of a song that I can remember the 1st time I heard it as a child in the early 70s. Hard to find new music as good as this classic

I'm a drummer who never made it big so these words always hit home...."and if the music stops....there's only the sound of the rain....all the hope and glory ...all the sacrifice in vain..." However, love did not remain. Bravado.

Music today isn't relatable, songs like this the average man can relate to the music of today is about whores and being rich and things that the average man just doesn't care about. I miss the old days when music had heart and passion.

Many suppose Rutsey passed away about 1975, but Lifeson mentioned he went to the gym with him much later, and he actually passed relatively recently in about 2008.

Alex Lifeson has the greatest body of work in guitar rock history. He is so under rated when you consider the entire catolog of original material. He is the GOAT.

Love this tune! Never appreciated it in 1974, but I think today, 50 years later, it's very unique and well written! And Kenny Chesney did an awesome job on it too.

Great song but I first heard this song in the fall of 1974. I was a small town country boy with a close knit family....but now I was 300 miles away from home knowing no one...and this great song brings back those memories of being homesick and knowing my life was never going to be the same again. No more kid stuff. My how time flies.

John Rutsey was certainly no slouch on the drum set. Shame his diabetes sidelined his musical career.
