played this in a jam a few years back with Melinda Jamrom. She said she got it from Christian Wig's album. I picked it up from that. Love the way the melody appears to be in the key of D, yet barely utilizes the tonic chord.

As far as I can tell, there seems to be two versions of this tune - the Shelor version and the Knauff version. As gadaya pointed out in his comment above, Scott Prouty does a nice rendition of the Knauff version on his Shaking Down The Acorns album.
