Hello, I'm writing in a desperate attempt to save my life as well as my eye sight. I'm a 48 year old woman living in Phoenix, Arizona. USA. I have contracted River Blindness through my job as an Over The Road Truck Driver. Over the past 2 1/2 years, I've visited several hospitals and have seen countless doctors who dismiss my symptoms as "Delusional." I'm currently completely blind in my left eye and my right eye is loosing my 6sight as well. Doctors have informed me that the test I need isn't even available here. I have 5 children. I'm so afraid! I know that without treatment, I will die from this curable and preventable illness. Please, if this message reaches anyone out there that has any suggestions on what options are available to me, I beg you, PLEASE reach out to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this, as it a desperate attempt to get my story out there. God Bless

There is a lot to take from this message. "Biko’s conviction...that Africa has a great gift to offer to the rest of the world, a human face that can replace the brutal and violent realities of our times.” "Mandela wrote...'Honour belongs to those who never forsake the truth even when things seem dark and grim.." "If there is no hope to be found, let us create it. If there is no light to revel in, let our lives shine like the sun...Hope is of the essence; nothing is more vital! Therein lies the indomitable spirit of Africa."

I Kindly request this. It is required this all differents group refugee, asylum - seekers, migrants should be assisted to get permits documents. This should balance their protection & it will enshrined that particular states citizen. There should be eliminations of vulnerability in both parties or individuals. Humankind should be protected in all directions. The protection defence is seriously required.

Wonderful message by sensei. As we mark the youth day here, this is a seminal message of hope for the youth and others in Africa.
Congratulations to Dr T. Singh (School of Chemistry) and her UKZN team for producing a fantastic Women in Science event! It is really inspiring to see how your event has reached so many young students! Looking forward to more of your Women in Science initiatives! Keep us posted! Well done!
