You have some good skills. If you cleaned moulding lines from the parts and trimmed them where needed you would get a much better end result. Also trim the decals to help them fit better. It is a shame you didn't straighten out the bent windscreen pillar and that you mixed up the head light lenses with the spot lights.

Thanks for this vid. Been having so many issues painting the body with the setup I'm using and have had to strip and repaint so many times for my custom Porsche 911. Currently using 5.0 needle with 2:1 thinner/ paint ratio with 10 psi for 1st and 2nd coat with 5 psi for 3rd and 4th. How many layers did you spray on and what was the wait time between each coat? I usually wait 15 minutes. I noticed the lighter, slower coats but longer strokes which I will try myself since mine were a lot shorter and noticed I was the paint was running a lot. Again, thanks for this vid. Everyone has their own preference, I'm still trying to find mine to ensure future builds I don't have to keep stripping down back to bare plastic and reprime/ paint.

Hey. New to the channel and really enjoyed this. Awesome work right here, learned a few tips as I am trying to up my model building game. Congrats. My favorite thing was what you did to the body before you painted it, including wet sanding, and priming!

I would strongly suggest to anyone trying to build vehicles that you take advantage of the internets vast supply of photos to help you to accurately detail your models. This builder obviously did not do that. Brown fuel tanks, green air filters and garden hose for ignition cables just take away from what could have been an exceptional model.

I worked wih airbrushes since the 1960's and also taught classes to art students for many years. I also ran basic workshops on weekends for hobby artists. Paasche produces a couple of airbrush sand blasters. It can be so simple to use that tool to work on restoring medal models and also plastic ones... just a suggestion.

This must be a newer version. The kits from Revell in the 70s were much different. The frame had the floorboards in one piece and the seats were mounted to the floor as in the real car. The doors opened. They made a 55, 56,57, as well as a 57 Nomad. The 56 was a two door sedan like this one, the others were hardtops. I built several of these. Not the easiest build but a beautiful model once together.

Very Nice Build ! Beautiful paint work, The car is actually a 210 Sedan not a Bel Air, It doesn't have the long fin chrome on top of the quarter panels, It has the short ones, Also you should have Chrome Vs on the hood and Trunk Lid as does a 210 model, The Bel Air would have the Gold Vs and Gold lettering and Gold grille, And the three Gold hash louvers on each fenders, plus the model is missing the upper Chrome that runs along the roof on a Bel-Air sedan just has the lower piece.

Nice car. I got the 1-16 cabrio model of this car in my stack waiting to be build. But after the summer. And i have build a 55 i think it was a few years ago. Had stock and custom parts. Was a joy to build, but a drama to line up everything, was a lot of sanding at the hood and doors. The panel lines were almost gone, think it was a re-re-re-re isue kit. But came out nice. The onwner of that car still has it on his desk
