Wikipedia says that wood ducks nest in tree cavities and have claws for perching on tree branches. So your suggestion is probably right. They look like the right shape for wood ducks, too. But, pinch of salt -- I live in the UK and I'm just going by photographs of an animal I think I've seen once in my life.

That is where my great Grandfather Wayne L McGee, in Starr and Mr. Smith from Hartwell GA. operated a ferry during the Civil War. Also the site of Manse Jolly killing several Yankee soldiers. The old bridge fell during construction of lake Russel, a dump trucks dump bed was still raised as it crossed the bridge, it struck the overhead Ironworks causing the bridge to collapse.

Thanks for the current view. I left SC in 1986 and much has changed with the completion of the Russel dam. Around 1976, before lake Russel flooded the area, a friend and I parked his 4x4 pickup on a muddy dirt road near where the ramp and courtesy dock are now and waded out onto the rocks in the middle of the river to trout fish. The flood gates at Hartwell opened, but we couldn't hear the horns where we were for the rushing water. Thankfully, we knew enough to be alert to the sudden cold wind coming down the river bed ahead of the rising water and picked a line to shore and started walking fast. The rocks we walked across were disappearing fast as we neared shore. When we looked back, the rocks we walked across were hidden by the fast moving water. Several people drowned on that stretch of the Savannah in similar incidents back in those days. The bird is an osprey, BTW.

Wow - Cool - Would have loved to see this area and rivers before the dams - Thanks for the info!

This faucet sucks. I installed one that a customer provided. It would not get tight enough so it was super wobbly. Get an American Standard
@ZVilleVideos15 күн бұрын
Yeah - you have to be able to get up in there - but I was able to tighten it down pretty good and it is solid - We like it -
@jacobfears463023 сағат бұрын
The problem is that the tightening contraption has plastic interrupted threads that are trying to tighten down on the metal threaded tube that the faucet is connected to. It won't get tight enough because you can easily strip out the plastic interrupted threads. Maybe if the manufacturer would have made those interrupted threads metal instead of plastic then it would be an OK design.

@@mrt5187 as a plumber I think they are geat if your handy and you have the ability to swap it every 10 years (that’s about the max life you’ll get from what I’ve seen) if you want something that’s going to last a very long time and that’s easily repairable if something goes wrong I’d get a delta.
