How long is that snake? I belong in a snake group and they are saying Boa Constrictors never get over 9 feet long. I told them they can get up to 18 feet and they say I’m crazy?

i don’t think any boa has ever gotten to reach 18 feet, however they can occasionally reach 15 feet

The chances that you would get a boa to grow over 10 feet are slim. Most people just tell little fibs when talking about the size of their snakes to make them seem more impressive. A giant female can get 13 to 14 feet, but even that is nearly impossible to get to. There are reports that one individual seen was 18 foot, but there is nothing to back that up and you certainly would never get a pet to grow that big.
