Made those planes 17 years ago....and still shy away from foil. 😨 Thanks for the view and comment. 🙂

How does the room dehumifier work on those paint parts on the stick? Is it bone dry after a few hours?
@mightyjjk12985 күн бұрын
Yes. Especially on the Future clear coats. I used to get finger prints THROUGH the gloves even after 2-3 days. Leave them in there over night and they are bone dry and rock hard.

Nice speeder bike kit switch. If your really in a bind, you could use plastic wrap on the inside of the Concorde fuselage to simulate the windows since they are small...just a thought. Enjoy the GB.😊

I thought along the same lines; but not in 48 hours. But yeah, down the road I'll circle back to it. It does look like a nice kit with nice decals.

@@briandavey7187 Used KK before. Problem is the canopy is missing, i.e, including the frame. Will require scratch building.
@briandavey71873 күн бұрын
@@mightyjjk1298 Dang! a major hassle then, I hate it when the canopy is missing, not easy to scratch build but maybe clear plastic sheet could be used in this case. That's the risk with secondhand models though I've been 99.9% lucky.

A very nice kit and well made sir. The 1/9th scale is always a clue that this originated as a Protar kit, they had a range of really great motorcycle models. Luckily I have a few of these from the old days, and they are excellent kits but now cost an arm and a leg on ebay! Italeri re-produce a number of old Protar motorcycle kits and when they put out new releases for sensible prices it's always a bonus. Protar once made a 1/6th Moto Guzzi California, now worth mega money, Italeri put out a release of these in 2013 but they are rare as hens teeth and $$$, I live in hope they release it again, cheap please🙏

Firstly...all your models displayed look magnificent, but don't give up up on Foil Finishes too easily. Even though flawed, the Constellation looks fantastic and considering it was your first attempt at a difficult technique and using a product not suited to covering aircraft, it is very encouraging result 👍 Normal Kitchen foil and " Micro Scale " Foil Adhesive is a better option for covering 1/72nd scale aircraft than BMF ( There are thicker foils available which are better for larger scale aircraft : 1/48, 1/32, 1/24 etc. that are much more forgiving in terms of creases and blemishes as the can be burnished or sanded out ). BMF is great product for small chrome/metal areas on car models, which I think it is commonly used for. In my limited experience with BMF I have found that the pre applied adhesive is too aggressive. Just removing the foil from the backing paper puts the foil under tension, hence the tendency for the foil to want to curl up once removed from the backing paper and increasing the difficulty of application over larger complex surfaces. Micro Scale Foil Adhesive gives you the freedom to place an unstressed piece of foil over the area/panel you want to cover, burnish the foil lightly to outline the area you wish to foil, before applying glue only to the area within the outline while leaving the outer areas free of glue allowing much easier handling of the piece. After burnishing the piece of foil to the chosen panel it's then just a matter of trimming the piece to the outline of the panel with a sharp blade. Yes, the foiling process can be tedious , but no paint, no matter how good it is ( and there are some very good Metallic paints out there ) can match the look, handling durability and authenticity of real metal. 🍻

Thanks for the kind words and info. I agree nothing looks as good as actual metal, ie., foil. Here and there I still use it, but it's a trade off between time/effort and results and I all too often take the easy way out. Thanks for the sub as well. 😀

Interesting build, the model certainly looks very nice finishedl. I have built two similar kits, a Maisto 1/24 Mustang and a Welly 1/24 Jaguar XK. Both were different in construction and detail from each other and this kit. I''d say this Bburago maybe looks better for external detail. It's a good option if you can't find a plastic Kit for a particular vehicle as they often come up very cheap secondhand.

Great haul, I hoped to do the same in Croatia some years ago but never found a model shop. Spoilt for choice in that model shop for sure, I would've grabbed that MV Agusta as I have all the others. All those 1/9 Italeri are Protar kits originally, that Alfa Romeo Spider can also be built from an old 1/24 Protar kit that Italeri have released again this year. Keep your eyes peeled🥸
