How tolerant of heat/cold are these? Wondering if storing one in my car first aid kit would be ok. I feel like the summer heat and winter cold would break down the adhesive though? Can't seem to find any information on this.

Itxs great that you're talking about this! Growing up, I do t thi k we ever took any life saving medical equipment into the woods with us. I got my Dad an Out Pak this season, and I've got a modified CREEK-mini, since I do a lot of kayaking.

Situation dependant, if you don't have a medkit, you are just being dumb... I carry a small trauma kit with me while I climb, bike, or work erecting steel
@1sg.Airhead
@1sg.Airhead 20 күн бұрын
You should have at least one trauma kit that you usually keep with you, and it'd would be extremely smart to have 3 trauma kits, one for home, one for your vehicle, and one that you can take with you. Not having a tourniquet in those trauma kits, or not having a trauma kit in general is just dumb.

Very cool NAR I’m excited to see more of this out in the field, where life saving medical professionals are increasingly more and more at risk these days, as our society rapidly crumbles into a void where empathy and morality simply do not exist anymore

If I am a certified EMT but are not currently employed at an ambulance company, am I able to buy devices such as a needle decompression?

Some of these restrictions are not appropriate (I realize as company this my be out of your control). Anyone who is or has ever been CPR trained should be able to purchase a BVM. Getting an individual air when they are unable to do so on their own should never ever be regulated by the government. Forces people to buy inferior products from China or "training" equipment, which may indeed cost a life.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, as an FDA regulated medical company, we don't get to make the rules for which items are Rx and which aren't. The positive side is that people can know that our products are manufactured to meet the quality standards for medical use (as opposed to unregulated imports, etc).

@@Narescue01 Thank you for your reply. I am a big proponent of your products and do have faith in the quality and ability of said products. Your reputation is known and respected world wide. I completely understand that as a company you have to follow the rules and you should. Just blows my mind the government thinks it's ok (and we have allowed them) to regulate breathing.

Everything about this acronym is frustrating. - Content long since covered in an old acronym (which is being improved on) - The first word in the acronym is the entire acronym - The third letter in the acronym is just the word Rapid - The third letter in the acronym serves no purpose outside of emphasis to the fourth letter in the acronym I was so frustrated that I didn't even notice that suppression was misspelled. When the military is out pacing you; you're not even trying.

This is, absolutely, an interesting video but like all the "tacti-cool" kits that have the decompression needles in them, the idea can also present a danger unless the whole story is told, i.e., you have the legal right to do it or can prove there was a necessity because it definitely falls outside the scope of reasonable care. Speaking as an EMT-B in New York, I can also say with confidence that if this is ever performed by anyone outside of a hospital setting and you cannot absolutely, 100% prove that the person was going to die without it, you can count on being sued out of existence, losing any licensing you have, and quite possibly doing jail time - especially if you somehow do it wrong and kill the person or cause them more harm while saving their life. There are convincing arguments made that if you are not qualified to use something, don't even carry it as it could work against you should someone decide to press a lawsuit. In the end, YMMV, and it's up to you - but be informed.

Another clever acronym, highlighting all of the essentials learned in combat medical care years prior. Here's another " consensus ". Posting " gun free zone " signs outside of school buildings doesn't prevent violent crimes in those buildings. The dollars spent in developing the " Hartford Consensus " would have been better spent on hardening school security.

Don't apply it to skin. There shoulb be something soft in-between skin and the tourniquet. Besides, don't overdue it. Otherwise you may destroy everything below the application place.
