I too am a puzzle lover. A game I enjoy playing with my kiddos is Labrynth. Its a great strategy game in which the board actually changes every turn, kinda like a puzzle (LOL). The object of the game is to reach the items on the board that you have cards for and return to your home spot. First one back home wins the game.

@ericas.617329 күн бұрын
Children’s book that has chapters, like Little House, My Father’s Dragon, Alice in Wonderland, etc. vs. picture books which are the shorter books with pictures on every page, usually geared towards babies/toddlers/preschoolers.

I am so glad to find this flip through! I have been eyeing this Bible curriculum for a long time! I was especially happy to hear that you do not use the teacher guides. They are so expensive and bulky-looking, that I have been looking for reviews, hoping to find someone who says that the teacher guide is not necessary, but haven't had any luck until now. The curriculum description itself makes it sound like it's required, but based on the samples I've seen, I figured maybe I could make do without it. Definitely going to give it a try this next year now!
@acozyviewАй бұрын
Glad it was helpful! I don’t think I realized there were teachers guides when I first bought them. But yeah, I feel we have done just fine. Though I don’t know what we’re missing out on. 😅

Hi! We had a similar pencil situation for a hot minute, too. I had the kids go through all the pencils and pick one they really liked. My oldest choose a mechanical pencil for a few years, this least year he liked this short green pencil, then this year he had a red one but with 3-4 different Eraser heads. My 2nd oldest now has about 3 she switches around but, she knows that's all she is getting. If she looses those then she gets one of my choosing and she is not fond of that idea because she likes her colorful ones and she wants to put on her pencil box (not in my teacher book). I gave them pencil cases (this year my oldest built himself a pencil/pen/marker holder) and when we finished school I reminded them to make sure they put there pencils back in their boxes because it's the only one they have and they need to put it back. And the times when they can't find their pencil for lessions ( the next time ) I would tell them "well you need to find it because you need to do lessions" and usually after lessions they do something they want to do, eat a fun treat or we go do something if all is finished. So if they don't get done, they do not get to go do the other fun thing. I know every family is different but, I thought maybe sharing might help in some way❤ I've heard a lot of teachers struggle with the missing pencils too! Hope your methods work this year!!
@acozyviewАй бұрын
Sometimes it can take a long time to find a system that works! 😅 Glad you found one, I forgot to mention my husband has been known to take the school pencils too. But I’m hopeful this pencil dispenser will help. 🤞🏼
@Planner_girl_kelАй бұрын
@@acozyviewI’d be tempted to label the pencils and then they can track what number pencil they get and when it goes missing you know which number it is. Rather than just saying there was 20 now there’s only 15

HSLDA is amazing! I’m loving your wood shop elective and architecture elective. I’m sure I told you this already on your 6th grade picks video 😂 Question: would you be willing to share on your Etsy account the worksheets/lesson plan you’re making up for the architecture class? I want to steal your idea for that elective and that’ll be an amazing tool to have. I’m also loving the log sheets you created! My son is also doing typing this year. Thank you!

Thanks, I can totally do that. I haven’t made the architecture worksheets yet, but when I do I’ll be sure to put that on Etsy. I plan to finish the 60 hour elective log sheets this month. Been trying to come up with more designs than just piano and typing. I’ll stick those on Etsy too when completed. 😊

We did the human body last year but spread that section over the entire year and really enjoyed it! Question about the Positive Action Bible Studies...Do you need to buy the teacher guide or just the student manual enough? I am looking for a Bible study that my child can do on his own. Thanks.
@acozyview2 ай бұрын
I’ve never bought the teachers guide, so not really sure what’s in it. My kids are pretty independent with these, especially my oldest. Sometimes they will ask for help searching for a book of the Bible, but other than that they do it on their own.

Electives were always my favorite part of school. One thing we would like to do with our kids is introduce them to a few different trades. My husband being in the construction industry, those tend to come to mind first. But we like the idea of equipping them to have knowledge for a job after high school. If they choose to do college they will have an easier time paying for it. We are considering having them pick a trade in high school to do an internship with for this purpose.
