The old cast P3 sounds wonderful!! It sounds a perfect A major triad chord. It reminds me of the nathan M3RT1 horns that I heard on the D&H RR RS3 and RS11 locomotives years ago.

Nice!, i kind of like them much better than the newer ones, the older ones have a more commanding sound to "get the h@## off the track"! And the crow in the background just adds to it!

Sweet horn, I like that you paint matched it with your F250. Now I gotta do mine... but the metallic tri-coat is a bit harder to match haha

I got to get one of these, yesterday a up SD70ace I saw went all out on the horn, it did not sound as nice as this one lol. I much prefer this one.

Thanks! Yeah this thing is an absolute ripper! Usually I’m not a huge fan of the raised letter stuff but the tone on it is dead perfect and screams like the SD70 Ace’s.

Maybe it was previous owner like he said in a previous video of it.

It was the previous owner that got rid of the original paint and it wasn’t by choice. As you can see in the beginning photos the horn was in a complete state of disrepair when he obtained it and required large amounts of work to not only get the back caps off but heavy machine work was needed by Mr. Muha to get this horn into working condition. As any collector would agree, original paint is obviously the goal but just wasn’t an option in this restoration sadly due to the state of corrosion. None the less it was documented very well in its original condition as well as during every step of the restoration.

*USAX 1663 used to have this horn right now it currently has a Southern Pacific k5h but on Christmas they throw a Hancock whistle on it because it is used as the Christmas train around the base for special military families and a Christmas event that they do every year it is located at Fort Eustis in Newport News VA they use it every now and then to move stuff around the yard or out of the yard*
