1:30 and 1:31 Belmont and Garfield rivals. You can hear the Belmont girl giggling do to the rivalry they had back then. Belmont beat Garfield that year! Both had great shows. It was amazing how the students had pride for their school band those days! Would be nice if kids these days felt the same for their school band like before!

Locke's band and dril team played out after 1980-81. If you were in advance band at Gompers, it's a very strong chance you will be matching in the greatest high school band in all the land. For those who don't know, for over a decade, our theme song was "the horse" by Cliff Nobles, look it up.

@ rankor, what r u talking bout belmont did infact take the city championship. I have the vid of the award ceremony. Garfield took 3, bell took 2 n belmont took first! Same for the 1988 show! Garfield try to sue Belmont for beating them two years in a row! Then the banner went back to belmont in 1996!

@peierple I can't find the Bell high school from 1989. Though I did see Garfield, and they weren't that bad. If only there was a better quality video of this show. Belmont was really really good then.

OMG!!! The memorizes are flooding back. I was a member of 88,89,90,91 marching band on the trumpet line. This is the year we took the championship from long time 4A champs Carson HS and beat out Garfield HS and thus beginning THE rivalry with Garfield. I remember the early morning rehearsals as well as late ones with Mr. Feliz. I'll never forget performing the Friday night games at Belmont. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE VIDEO, IF YOU HAVE THE 1990 FINALS VIDEO THAT WOULD BE AWESOME TO SEE AGAIN.

hey, it's clarinet chick from montclair high school. i met a trumpet dude at the chaffey comp. srry it took me forever to get in contact, been real busey w/ band and junk, but at least i got it done.

hahahaha no joke, i wrote out all the parts. i have no idea where the fuck i put em but i wrote em down hahaha....

not quite sure who wrote the horn arrangements but i wrote the battery parts. the book for the battery was originally written for 4 basses, 3 snares and 1 tenor. but as you can see, there were only three drummers (one bass, one tenor, and myself on snare). as the season passed, most of the drumline were cut for certain reasons and we ended up with three drummers. the book that was originally writen could not be played with 3 drummers, so i took the liberty in rewriting the show.

mr. andrews made hate music i wish i would off have had this teacher. Andrews never gave me da chance to expand my talent i did it on my own..

Wonders what the 89' Alumni are doing now days? Congrats on the Win! Yes those uniforms are priceless and we made the best out of them. But Im very glad that we got new ones :) It was time to move on. Mr Feliz was an amazing teacher and did great things to keep his program growing. I thank him for being a part of my music career. oh wow! I haven't seen this since..well, 1989! I remember all the lines taped to the ground were wrong! formations look alright considering that we used cones for field lines. lol...Do you have more from that year? or the following year? It's awesome reliving those memories.
