Sir , how reliable is the 311 saw as I'm planning to buy one,don't like a finicky one where I find myself in the repair shop on a regular basis ??? Stihl dealers can be very persuasive at times and not giving honest advice!! I'll thank you in advance Gunter
@REDLINERUNNER2 ай бұрын
Hi. I have this saw for 16 months and so far so good. Absolutely no issues at all. Just one advice. AVOID Stihl oils. They are very expensive but the worst oils you can find. Just mix any JASO FD oil 2% and run it. Don't worry. Keep your chain sharp, from time to time wash the air filter (I have video how) and every two years replace air and fuel filters and spark plug NGK BPMR7A. I'm very happy with performance and reliability. When you start it first two fuel tanks you'll notice that engine needs to idle for about 30 seconds before it's ready to accelerate. First three fuel tanks don't push it hard. I have a video when I made bunch of firewood in 12 minutes. First few cuts take it easy later you can gun it!! I hope I helped.

@REDLINERUNNER6 ай бұрын
You can install 50cm/20" bar and chain, but from factory comes 40cm/16". Don't push the engine cold. Start it and let it run on half choke for 5 seconds, let it idle for 30 seconds and run it in the log gradually increasing the throttle. When it warms you can use full RPM just don't make it struggle. It's brand new. After 3 tanks you can push it hard. Thanks for watching. Just always mix 2% with oil that has JASO FD which is the highest norm available for 2T engines. Good luck and enjoy your new saw. Thanks for watching..

I plan to make a video of me cutting some fire wood soon. I would suggest you to ask in your dealership for one tool... Two in one chain sharpener. Ask for it.. You need two differrent, because for MS250 chain is 3/8 picco, and MS311 has 3/8. Amazing tool..
