Oh wow! That must have been amazing! I’ve been in the SNT and BGT audience quite a few times, but I’d have loved to have been there for some of the early stuff. I was only 13 when this was recorded so just a bit too young.

@@sarrae1984 oh that would have been great to experience! I think that I was 17 at the time. We spent 2 days filming on the boat. The scene with Joe Pesquale was absolutely hilarious 🤣 I used to go and see Ant and Dec at a lot of signings around Newcastle and to see them sing e.g. at a charity football match in Gateshead, Radio 1 Roadshow at Leazes Park etc.

@@sarrae1984 I never understood why Ant and Dec moved to Channel 4. It just failed in 1997. I remember reading that they wanted to break away from their reasonably clean cut personas from the BBC, and become a bit more adult focused, and this show just failed at it. It was made at the end of their pop career and before SMTV so it was their wilderness years 1997 to 1998.

John King They moved to Channel 4 after the public outcry over the Beat The Barber sketch during The Ant & Dec show the previous year. Unzipped was a good show, just on at the wrong time and the wrong channel. At the time, most of Wales didn’t receive Channel 4, so Welsh fans could only see the show on an early morning Sunday repeat, and the show suffered as a result.
