Glad you are ok. I lost my front tire on wet leaves, rolled down a hill and smashed my head on a log that cracked open my helmet. Saw stars big time! Immediately went to the ER for a scan that was normal, fortunately, especially given the hug egg I had on my head. I know you want to ride this stuff, but you gotta know your skillset and limitations. If you want to ride gnarlier stuff, you need good suspension... like Fox 160mm front and rear. Don't sit down through rock gardens if possible. Personally, I'd call that trail green with some blue techy stuff... definitely not black. Have fun and be safe!

I think further down the trail it got steeper but I don't know. I didn't make it that far. It's all black to me! lol. I actually checked my MTB tires today. Completely flat it's been so long. Think I might head back next weekend and give it another shot. Glad you were ok. Be careful out there!

Suburban Ohio here. The cities have bike infrastructure and theyre great for riding, and the country has no traffic and is great for riding. But getting TO either of those areas is a nightmare of monster trucks and wank panzers on roads without shoulders, much less a bike lane. But if you pick the right time, and the right route, you can cruise around neighborhoods for an hour or two with a great deal of ease. Just avoid morning and evening rush hours and you're golden.
@rockeastwood

A few rabbits, cows, friendly dogs who love the chase, elusive coyote, or tractor headed to work. I love it! But occasionally I go to town and oddly enjoy a slow pace suburban ride and maybe visit a coffee shop if there is one. Cycling is life ✌

And then walk back the next day . I also have rode a bike since i was a kid, and i still do . I absolutely love riding my bikes . I love riding dirt trails, and sometimes i switch it up, and i cruise the beach and my local park . For my 51"st birthday, I'm planning on buying a road bike and riding south from Long Beach to san diego and spending the night in san diego and then head back home . I love how riding a bike makes me feel. It takes me back to when i was a kid 😊

I'm 51 years old, and even in this day and age of widespread awareness of the importance of good mental and physical health, I still encounter people who think of the bicycle as "just a toy" and cycling as "child's play." Occasionally, I come across the elderly person who asks me, "aren't you too old to be playing around on a bicycle?" The fact that I do most of my riding on cutesy small-wheeled folding bikes that look like kids' bikes with their BMX-like wheels doesn't exactly help my case, either. 😅
