Hey. I have the same cooler, just black one. I have installed everything, the CPU cooler is working properly as functions, but the LCD display is "stuck", it doesn't move, always shows 30C and GCC cannot recognize the cooler. I have tried 5-6 times, unplugged all the cables, restarted, same and same issue. I have re-installed the GCC even with older version, but just it doesn't recognize my cooler. I have plugged the SATA power cable to my PSU and the little cable to "USB port on the MB", rest of the cables are on the fans just like you did in the video. Any ideas?

I own the z790 aorus elite X ax and i9 14900KF for 7 months, i found the Unleash profile the best for both workstation and gaming stability, 0 crashes in any game including the first descendant( ltos of reviewers reporting it unstable). I never bothered applying fixed voltages or LLC tuning either, just turned on Unleash profile and it works like a charm. However this is only true if you have top tier cooling as during cinebench this cpu consumes 365 watt, I had to cool it with a deepcool LS720 AIO with liquid metal in between the ihs and AIO coldplate in a front intake configuration, before LM, hwinfo64 would show the thermal throttle warning even while gaming as this cpu can pull 190 watts during gaming with Unleash profile and can momentarily throttle before the AIO fans have the chance to rev to full speed, using liquid metal solved that issue and hwinfo64 never showed thermal throttling in gaming again. I had to set fast thermal throttle limits to 95 degrees to prevent degradation and its been rock solid for 7 months. Yesterday I scored 973 and 17552 points in CPU Z single and multi core benchmarks and 14200 score in intel XTU 2.0 cpu benchmark( 26th highest in the world), if I increased temperature limit to 100 degrees I would probably score even higher but I dont want it to prevent degradation. Certainly amazing board for both gaming stability and workstation performance considering all I had to do was turn on Unleash mode without fiddling with voltages and LLC, top tier cooling is a must though.

@TheOverclockerMagazine I was able to figure out what the light was on the motherboard. It was the vga led light that was turning on. Apparently the computer was not detecting anything on the vga port amd that's why the light was turning on. I don't use the vga port because my monitor is connected to my graphics card. But the light was annoying me. So I disable vga port through the bios. And now there's no more light. I was Hoping someone spoke about those lights more in depth but I couldn't find anything about them. But thanks for responding.

I'm reading online that these reviews that favour the Ryzen are just paid marketing sponsorships by "showing selected games". But in my own opinion, as a gamer, if I'm comparing cpu gaming performance, then i will be comparing testing different games. Seems like a pathetic attempt by Nvidia to make Ryzen look bad. I'm mean how else will you test cpu gaming performnace if not through games?

Not sure I understand. Either way it's pretty clear that in average frame rates the 7800X3D is the #1 to beat. Not just me saying it but plenty of independent testing in different machines. As for being paid by AMD, or NVIDIA. I wish, honestly I wish... 🤭

The card has its advantages, that's true, but its power consumption compared to NVIDIA is incredibly high. You forgot to include the super versions of the cards in your tests, with them, GRE doesn't look as impressive anymore.

It'll handle g-sync just fine. May not be certified but you'll see you can check the G-sync box in the nvidia control and it works as it should.

@@TheOverclockerMagazine it’s officially gsync compatible, but only between 48-144hz. My monitor is 175hz capable, but I guess I won’t be able to use it. It arrives tomorrow so we’ll see.

ALL of gigabyte's z690 and z790 boards have been trash with ddr5 ram compatibility for the past 3 years. Not to mention the numerous audio issues that they still haven't fixed on their gaming X motherboards. People should avoid any motherboard made by gigabyte.

I want the Dark Hero... Does SA not have any stock. I did purchase this but It was forced. I couldn't get the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO Intel Z790. Im so pissed coz my whole build i spent on is 132k and the Encore is all i could get

Sucks dude. Yeah not sure why so many ROG boards are out of stock. That said, in many ways the Encore is a better board certainly for high performance where DRAM is concerned.. However if you care not for any of that, the Dark Hero is most certianly a better board especially for a R132K rig. That's an eye watering price for a machine. Incredible 💪🏾

B650E by default supports 36 PCIe Lanes of which 24 can be PCIe Gen5. B650 can't do this as all 36 lanes are Gen4.

Do you need to install firmware first before the pump activates? I plugged mine into the usb header and sata cable to PSU, but pump did not turn on...

You should be able to see the default image or animation on the unit to show that power is being received at the very least. If it remains off, then something may be faulty.

If you can choose definitely get the RTX 4080 Super, it's a ore powerful card as you know, by some margin as well.

PSUs are normally an after thought for most PC builders, yet it is the one device your entire rig relies on to work. It's sad that most people become penny wise but pound foolish when selecting a PSU seeing as it will determine the lifespan of all the other expensive parts in the rig.

Hello brother. I'm thinking about getting this motherboard, but the thing is that I already have a pair of RAM sticks wich I need to fit into it and I can't find the QVL for this motherboard. The ram I have is the Kingston Fury Renegade 96Gb (KF564C32RSAK2-96). Do you think I would run into any trouble with pairing these ram sticks with that motherboard? Thanks in advance.

Depending on the application(s) you use most often, however I'd say a 7900 or 7950 would better suit your rendering purposes. For gaming the 7800X3D is about as potent as it gets but that isn't true for other apps it seems.

I know this is an old video but right now Im still in 2021 gen cpu and don't plan to change at all I use this Aorus ram 2kits 3733mhz and all I do is set the XMP and turn the desired frequency in the choices below and pick the 4000mhz without noticing the CL setings and voltage. Works fine and plan to push 4400mhz yet since it said here to 4500+ can be set in a desire set up.

Won't be much difference between 4400 and 4500 and in fact 4500 may need some sacrifice on some timings so I'd just leave it at 4400.

Hmmm I'd say go with the 4070Ti if you are able to pick between the two depending on your games. That Ray Tracing achilles of the RDNA GPUs is a bit much, and DLSS simply has more room to grow it seems than FSR. And you can use FSR Frame Gen on Nvidia GPUs as well

It's for LN2, where USB controllers may be disabled for stability at the edge. In such a case PS2 for mouse and keyboard will always work and have virtually no load on the system.

I solved my issue. It seems to be a lose wire in the front panel HD Audio connector that was causing issues for me.

It's amazing! I have it, never had wifi and BT on a MB. Also has a small GPU holder. Really happy with it! Perfect match for Ryzen 9 7900 and 32 gb Adata xgp 6400 mz. Post code is useful also.

Nice video, thankyou. I've had the motherboard for three weeks now with the 13900. I do a lot of modelling so constantly have the CPU's at 100% util. With an AIO I'm still clock in temps of around 95' celcius. When I try undervolting, I get the temps down 10 degrees. However it becomes unstable and Win11 crashes. I've tried -0.03 and -0.02 and -0.01V and still unstable. If anyone's been able to successfully undervolt to keep the temps down please do let us know! :) Cheers!

Hello, sorry, is it normal if I insert the ram in different slots or a bad connection does the PC not turn on? but when I insert x*x* being the * where I have the ram inserted, it works. but if I make another connection it doesn't turn on the PC. sales drink. Is it the ram or the motherboard? I have this same one. I get a blue screen error. memory_management.I've only had this new PC for 1 week.

No, you can use two sticks. Just populate the slots furthest from the CPU in each channel. As @marculetzc1366 said. Populate A2 and B2

Really great notebooks these. Simple no nonsense powerhouse that does exactly what it says it'll do. Really impressed with the editing and gaming capabilites. Been using a lot of processing of video via AI tools and it works really well here even though leveraging the GPU not the NPU.
