So freeing and so restrictive at the same time. I am conflicted about this living scenario. If guests arrive, how do you feed them since you have limited utensils, 2 spoons and forks? Do you instruct them to bring their own utensils, glasses for drinking water, napkins, paper plates, mugs or a picnic basket set? You don't serve tea? You don't own a teapot or cups. What about books visitors can peruse and settle down to flip through, coffee table books to look at? What if someone needs to take a shower? No towel provided for that person? And if family or a friend visit, there's no couch to sleep on, no extra sheets for guests? This appears to be an isolated life, unwelcoming to visitors. I guess that's how you purposely arranged it. I have a couple of elderly friends with painful arthritis and limited mobility, I could never ask them to sit on a blanket on the floor. The only available chair on the balcony doesn't look comfortable either. This seems to be a living arrangement designed for lonely living. A little sad. Wishing you well.

It’s not that visitors are “unwelcome”- it’s just I don’t have people over. My job is very socially draining so I enjoy peace and quiet on my off time. If I see friends it’s out in the world for a movie or hike or dinner. My family lives all over the country, not close to me. But this is just my life and my needs- no need to copy it. Simplicity will look different for everyone. You can still meet your own individual needs and preferences- it’s just about being more intentional with what you consume and releasing the excess 💙

@@Exploravore while I'm def not as minimal as you by any stretch of the imagination, I understand what you're saying as I also visit w friends only outside of my home b/c my job is very socially draining and I enjoy my downtime quietly and don't keep extra crap around for "just in case" situations, keep living the peaceful, uncluttered life that works for you!😊

This is not on you, but I want to put it here in case you're able to upload your videos NOT on HDR... it appears that when I watch you specifically, my mac is quite annoying about it. Your video gets sooo bright it hurts my eyes and the rest of my screen dims. I can't find a way to control it yet, I think it's exclusively an HDR thing. I love listening to you so I usually change tabs to only hear audio. But I wanted to put this out there in case you're willing to disable HDR. I google but I don't know how to turn this off on mac.

Hmm yea I film in 4K- if I film/upload less than that the quality really does go down. I know in the KZfaq app as a viewer you can select which quality to view in- I’m sure you can do this on a computer

@mapachemaldito 6 сағат бұрын
@@Exploravore It's not the 4K. It's the HDR! even if I select less quality, all the qualities inclue HDR which is what creates the issue. Thanks for replying to me! I hope apple allows me to turn this "feature" off soon somehow.

Sweet! Thanks so much! So the Thai dish is just called “Curry”? What’s in it? Also, I’m just curious: you seem so disciplined and put together and obviously fit. For years, I have struggled with eating unconsciously when I feel stressed out or overwhelmed as if I sometimes use food to numb-out and consequently eat too much. Like waaaay too much. 😮 I thought this would change when I went vegan because I’ve cut out everything processed and I’m not eating anything addictive like with dairy or sugar. But, I’m still struggling with this. Any word of advice or insight as to how you just eat what you’ve created for that meal and don’t go beyond that, say, for example, when you’ve come home from a crazy work shift and feel a bit frazzled?

The body is looking to take care of you and when it’s asking for nourishment, it’s not wrong. Sometimes that need is more food, other times it’s emotional or spiritual nourishment. If you are craving comfort, it’s an opportunity to look at what other needs in life are not being met (ie how is your job, your relationships, your sleep, your physical movement, your time in nature, your sense of purpose, your love for yourself…)? …and yes there are several flavors- green curry and yellow curry are my favorites 💚

I don't think I could ever sleep on a mattress on the floor. I did that 13 years ago, and it started straining my chest muscles. Strained muscles start spasming, plus the chest muscles support the heart. With my chest muscles being in a strained/fatigued state, I was feeling my heart beating way more than anyone should feel. Fortunately, I had a futon bed frame, which uses a semi-suspended wooden base. Suspension is very important for sleep. A mattress that has the right balance of firm and cushiony, is also very important. As you learned, without firmness, multiple body parts get pressured/strained, and you wake up with pain in multiple body parts.

I am very inspired by your kitchen. I have so much clutter in my cabinets, it's ridiculous . I cook and entertain occasionally but there are things I rarely use. As far as clothes, I find myself only using a small amount of them. My home has a nice flow with a little empty space but I have a more maximalist aesthetic with prints and eclectic art. But I find myself enjoying the calm when I spend time in my clients' more minimalist homes. Beautiful space and I appreciate how much thought you've put into every aspect of daily life and routines.

I identify with this a lot... The only thing for which I could be a maximalist would be in building a beautiful garden... I don't think I own a lot of stuff, I touch every object on a regular basis (except decor) but I still feel overwhelmed with the little things.

Hello Alicia ! I'm so late in commenting as I'm not near the internet at the moment but please know that I enjoy your videos as always and this one perhaps even more ! I'm meant to be vegan from my birth (yes I know it 😄), I'm vegetarian since I was 8, but because I deal with a quite severe inflammatory bowel chronic disease I can't eat as much veggies and other necessities in a vegan diet so I think that I was 85% vegan and after meeting you, I told myself “I can and I will do better !” And I think I'm 95% vegan now but my body is not always comfortable I have to admit ☺️ but as my soul is, I'm happy ! I want to thank you for telling us in another video that your hair was healthy and not falling down being vegan because it was a phobia for me as I have been losing my hair since my adolescence. So thank you Alicia because in that video, you were like a fairy, telling me “you can do it and relax, everything is going to be all right !” À bientôt et prends soin de toi mon amie 💛🌿🌸

I've probably had two coffees in my life (it tastes gross to me!) and recently, have felt I've been missing out, due to being close to an artisan coffee place. Your raw portrayal of your experience is shocking and has completely shifted my perception, so thank you. I very much admire your overall intention of ridding yourself of the 'noise': unnecessary mental, physical, emotional stuff that is an impediment to healing. Your channel, more than any other, has made me aware that, in our aversion to silence, we are not only trying to escape our emotional difficulties, but often adding more things that need to be healed from: addictions, toxic relationships, maladaptive patterns. Eventually, you are forced to realise that the way you are working, isn't working. Listening to your videos makes me increasingly aware that I can't continue to avert my own healing journey. It's scary though 🙏

Be wealthy but make better choices. We need this as a t shirt! 😅 As a fairly long term vegan of the more tolerant variety, I wholeheartedly agree with your respect for the hunters. I have lived in rural, northern Sweden where hunting is part of life. And those men (and women) have deep respect for the animals they kill. It’s done with intention and no part goes to waste. Sure I’d love for everyone to be vegan, but what truly sickens me are the unconscious meat consumers that can’t stand blood and need their flesh in neat little packages that hide the animal it once was. xx

You are the only other person I know who believes hunting and fishing are better than not if you are consuming animals. Let it live a wild natural life and then face it with the reverence it deserves for keeping you alive if you believe that is right. I know this will be difficult for those that do not/cannot hunt but if everybody ate less meat, perhaps it could be affordable to have hunters provide it to those who consume it. Factory farming is abominable, and I wonder if people really understood it if they would support it...ignorance is bliss.
