Hi Diana , I would love to know how you made the other sample you showed at the start of the video. Is there anywhere I can find this? Thank you.

Are you referring to the Chevron Cable, which is here? kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mMWVftKkz5OshnU.htmlsi=OBb1f9aBu72HEr_y There little box with the name of the cable is a link that will take you to that video.

Wow so there's no bar, just foam. The used machine I got came with 2 sponge bars (like for a standard gauge machine), both were flat as pancakes, but I have new foam. This makes it so easy!

This is old, an antique and curiosity. I found this oneon eBay. We had towork on it. If you want to learn MK, I'd recomment a newer flatbed, say an LK-50.

What would you use for the bottom and top edges of a baby blanket using this for edging? would knitting on I-cord bind off match? how would you do the cast on end to make it match?

Well done! I just got a ribber and just finished my first practice row. I was not pleased with the ruffly look of the cast on row at all! So ugly! I will certainly be trying this method next!

What is the matching cast off? Say if I wanted to make a baby blanket with this look on both ends.
@dianaknits
@dianaknits 9 күн бұрын
You would do this procedure on the last few rows, then do a loop-through-a-loop bind off or a tapestry needle backstitch bind off. You should swatch this - it's thick and not stretchy. It would not be appropriate to edge a stretchy blanket.

Hi Diana, Can the embrossed leaf be a different color Like doing an intarsia on ribber bed? I am new to machine knitting but an ambitious beginner coming from hand knitting back ground, lol. Thank you so much for all your wonderful, easy to follow and super helpy instructional videos. This is a fading out craft that need more promotions amongst crafter and knitters.

is there a way to do this with a punch knitter?
@dianaknits
@dianaknits 20 күн бұрын
Since the ribber does not do patterning, at least the ribber has to be hand-counted. I have not played around with doing this on a punch card machine, though.

It's just an example showing how to do it. You can do it with whatever set-in sleeve pattern you're using if you do the shaping at the top first. It also works very well with a Knit Leader or Knit Tracer.

Does that also work with a ribbed hem?
@dianaknits
@dianaknits 20 күн бұрын
Yes I do a pickuup row first on the main bed, with the marker row, then rearrange the stitches into ribbing. I knit twice the depth of the ribbing so it will be long enough to fold over.. When the ribbing is done, I put all the stitches on the main bed, pick up the hem, and bind off the doubled ribbed band.

Does this machine have a sponge bar?
@dianaknits
@dianaknits 24 күн бұрын
Probably, but I don't recall. I sold the machine to a friend who really wanted one. It's just an interesting machine! Anyway, it might have a foam rubber strip without a plastic or metal ase for the sponge. Most plastic machines have that.

Question, making a Envelop Pillow cover and ive made the panels the two back and the front... im debating adding a trim around the edge, but not sure if i should make the trip and then sandwihch it inbetween the front and back layers? or stitch up the cover then add a trim around it?
@dianaknits
@dianaknits 26 күн бұрын
I would either sewthe trim on or put it on as a sew-as-you-go.

I been crotchetting around which works nice and doesnt need too many rows. Lays it nicely flat although you do need to take care which way you crotchet it...if you go all abound in the same direction it seems one side ends up curled so i go along each edge seperately so that both sides are the same if that makes sense. If you go around in continuous one side is facing differently.
