how would there be any pressure? It's just sitting there in the water? That doesn't make any sense. As soon as weight is added, it would just tilt immediately and the water would go around it.

no it should not affect the valve but might deadhead the pump .. Hope that answers your question..

"the operation of the drain valve is tricky"; you have to turn it. This video can be very helpful but the whole thing could have been completed with the explanation in under 5 minutes. Did it with my class today.
