From what I have seen, certainly, it seems the selection process overall SEEMS to be alright, even the judges were international judges with experience in judging for break dancing competitions. However, it seems the pool of participant was relatively small from what I have heard, because it was close only for Australia, with a lot of requirement (possibly as Del said it in the video, one of them needing an international passport, however didn't know it was so expensive for Australian to get one) and it wasn't advertised very well. and well the pool of participant being small and (from what I have heard) with almost similar skills, she was selected. But I will not believe she took it "very seriously" for an Olympic participant. Also a point that I would like to add in the video, in my small country in latam, if our Olympic participant get a medal, well they receive compensation for live, even if it bronze.

So I dug into this a bit and the way they score is basically the judges have a tablet with 5 criteria: Technique, Vocabulary, Originality, Execution,Musicality and they move a slider for either of the two people competing in the dance battle. Then those each represent 20% of an overall performance that determines who that judge considers won. with 9 judges in total. Overall, she did get a "win" 7 times in 1 of the 5 these categories, across all 3 matches and 9 judges. So to be clear that is a total of 270 possible times to get a "point" she got 7. All of which were the "Originality" category except one that was for "Vocabulary". But none of these matter since they are aggregated into the overall score which she one 0 of out of a potential 54 opportunities. So in conclusions you can look at it one way and see she did really bad in it. or look at it another way and see she did really fucking bad in it.
