Useful thank you but is there a reason why the bulky half of the zip is on the top portion rather than the bottom? Wouldn’t it be more comfortable when the bottom of the legs have been unzipped to not have the clasp and bulky end of the zip on the shorts?

But I did make bootcut leggings and legging shorts with a skirt in a day and a half the other day to take to Florida for my daughter’s wedding this Saturday! Love your videos. I have bought a couple of your classes off of Craftsy a few years ago and have learned lots from them. I used to have the same coverstitch as yours but found it very noisy and always hesitated to start stitching unless I started very slowly. I bought it from a local Brother distributor here in Nova Scotia but she wouldn't take it back. I ended selling it for half of what I paid for it. My point is, yours sounds like a regular sewing machine (not like an industrial machine) and seems to sew quite smoothly. I miss having a coverstitch machine to do all the lovely hems. I am 70 years old and love making clothes and altering clothes to fit just right. You have been a breath of fresh air for me.❤

Brother needs a coverstitch that has air threading and an auto trimmer for all threads lol

I have a couple of sergers that can do both but for cover stitching I use my Brother 3550.

I have a Bernette b44 fun lock and I hate it. I have tried everything and it still misses stitches and sometimes it will lock up and will cause the fabric to get stuck inside the face plate. I have changed the type of thread, changed the needles. Nothing works. It also will not feed the fabric properly.

I have an Ovation & the Brother’s cover stitch machine. Use the Ovation a lot, but my cover stitch is parked for a bit as I am limited in space these days. Do love them both!

Have you ever thought about making these long enough to become a dress?

Hello, from U.K. I have purchased a few tops with the little press studs on already in the past. They seem to have stopped doing them now. I think it’s because like most manufacturers they want to cut back on those extras. I am really glad that more people will do this because off you.

I had to catch the replay. I think Im reaching the end of my project. I’ve been making the Bootstrap fashion pants form. Just need to measure myself and the form and make corrections and stuff it again. It’s just getting too hard at 70 to fit myself with all that stooping, bending, and twisting. Plus I can see what looks good & what doesn’t. Plus hemming a shift dress.

Last spring I add a cowl neck and love that shirt.

Missed the livestream and checked until 12:09 pm. Then figured no live today. Wish we’d have a little more heads up on these. Years ago there were bra strap stays made of thin twill tape and and snaps already sewn on. One just sewed it to the shoulder seam.

It was coho derby weekend last weekend in Sheboygan, WI. Lots of boats out on the lake!
