Hi. I have a Lenovo Yoga 11e with the Celeron N2930 cpu. I want to completely remove chrome os and install Xubuntu, so I have to install UEFI bios, will it work with this cpu and the bootable USB drive to work must be in UEFI mode? Thank you. EDIT: Well it worked like a charm!! I installed UEFI bios, and now I'm testing linux distributions! Thank you!

So, does the Pluton chip authenticate its identity and integrity with Microsoft? It seems so. So, how long before this authentication key is intercepted and imitated?

No, that would have been a huge privacy issue. It is local only.

My Samsung phone camera is just amazing and the more feature rich they become a setting can really cause problems, I did have a open-source camera/video app that I did not try and compare the results with the default (I thought of that after I solved the problem) My editor is constantly updating and well known for being buggy and my audio 2.4Ghz wireless mic was overdriving the audio. Combine all these issues and this problem very challenging.

What seems to be confusing is that there is a separate, distinct place in DCHP message structure, that seems to also be capable of containing boot file name, - the "File field", mentioned in HP documentation and it is also mentioned in RFC 2131 without any reference to PXE functionality.

As a presume we’re all proud Geeks here…I can’t stop myself from pointing out that notepad does not always save as a txt file. That wasn’t true when this was made either. To start with, rtf (possibly added after this) but I’m sure we all know that .bat works and there’s others as well. In a technical lesson about the registry it seems strange that he wouldn’t be clear that he’s presumably meaning “by default”. He’s specific with the other terms so that was strange to me.

Great comment, you have no idea after finishing a video how many mistakes or "less clear" communications I see once uploaded and published, that I should have done differently. KZfaq makes it difficult to fix any video once uploaded. Editing a single 20 minute video can take 35 hours and you would think I would see the problems but they slip right through. Many KZfaq Channels have production teams, but we have no such luxury. Thanks for the feedback!

You can actually do this _without_ support from the DHCP server. That's how the entire Intel PXE system is designed. The PXE server [what you call "proxyDHCP"] sees the DHCP transaction (because it's broadcast) and then repeats the DHCP response(s) with additional fields - using port 4011 as I recall. (that's the whole "Press F8" menu process) I've done that for over 20 years... on Linux. The more common method you're talking about needs the DHCP bootfile/server options to load a program designed to use the UNDI layer ("API"). There's a version of GRUB with support for the PXE/UNDI network layer. PXE is _not_ how laptops get repaired; not outside the factory, anyway. That's done by vendor specific recovery partitions, and/or UEFI "programs". (Your Dell slide doesn't have PXE in it anywhere.) Unless Intel has significantly updated the "standard", PXE does not directly understand HTTP/HTTPS, only TFTP and TCP/UDP. The program downloaded by TFTP can. (GRUB does) I don't have anything that understands a URL as a bootfile.

I have a question:What math should I learn for network administrator?
@TechsavvyProductions21 күн бұрын
Usually a good education at your local community college will include the math you need. You do not need engineering level math ie: calculus unless you want to be a developer also. This is a subjective question due to so many possible answers and potential job requirements. Lots of math will not hurt you.

@@TechsavvyProductions right , I agree. And internet isn’t expensive, I just always wondered what component turns it on or off remotely and what component controls internet speeds .. is there a way to tweak a router to have higher speeds etc
@TechsavvyProductions21 күн бұрын
Your ISP's data center and account management system controls speed and can disable/enable your access. Your router can be complex and incorrectly configured can slow down your internet, for example incorrectly configured QoS settings. Most folks setup the basic features and leave it alone, that's a good policy if you are not technical savvy about home routers.

Unfortunately, the Win32-OpenSSH Wiki just redirectos to the OpenBSD manual page for the "sshd_config" and "ssh_config", which just summarizes the tool flags and options it does not give any examples or actual use case, for such a popular tool on remoting there should be more case usage examples and Do's as well as Dont's but, will have to google it mean while, BTW excelent overview on the topic and very well explained, thanks

"Starting with Windows 10, version 1803, Microsoft no longer automatically backs up the system registry to the RegBack folder. This design change aims to reduce the overall disk footprint size of Windows. If you navigate to the `\Windows\System32\config\RegBack` folder, you will notice that each registry hive file is 0 KB in size. ### Re-enabling Automatic Registry Backups If you prefer to use the legacy backup behavior, you can re-enable it by modifying the registry and restarting your computer. Here’s how: 1. **Open the Registry Editor:** - Press `Win + R`, type `regedit`, and press `Enter`. 2. **Navigate to the following path:** ``` HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Configuration Manager ``` 3. **Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value:** - Name it `EnablePeriodicBackup`. - Set its value to `1`. 4. **Restart your computer:** - This change will prompt Windows to back up the registry to the RegBack folder upon restarting and create a `RegIdleBackup` task to manage future backups. ### Using System Restore Points In the absence of automatic registry backups, Microsoft recommends using system restore points to recover from a corrupt registry hive. System restore points can help you revert your system to a previous state where it was functioning correctly. ### Data Collection for Support If you require assistance from Microsoft support, gather information as instructed in the "Gather information by using TSS for deployment-related issues" section to help troubleshoot deployment-related issues. ### Summary This update in Windows 10, version 1803, signifies a shift in how registry backups are managed, prioritizing disk space efficiency. By manually re-enabling the periodic backups, users can maintain the previous behavior if needed, while relying on system restore points as a primary recovery method."
