Better service, better food, better drinks. Different clientele. U get what you pay for

I did a back to back on Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity's OLDEST ship, and the Norwegian Epic in February 2023. Here are the major differences between the two lines: 1) Celebrity's check-in is a lot smoother and there are literally dozens of crew, including officers, to greet you. When I got on the Epic, I made it all the way to my stateroom without seeing an employee. 2) Muster drill took less than two minutes and the staff was so friendly. On the Epic, we waited 75 minutes in one of the showrooms being screamed at by employees. 3) NCL had a bigger buffet but 50% of it was pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs and the like. Celebrity's buffet on the Millennium was a fraction of what this video shows on the newer ship but the food was great and variety was excellent. 4) To sail NCL is to wait in LONG lines for everything. It was like shopping in the Soviet Union. That was every night in the MDR. 5) The entertainment spaces were smaller on the NCL Epic despite being 1.5x the capacity of the Celebrity ship. And staff was there on Celebrity to prevent people from saving all of the seats. 6) The service on Celebrity has been excellent. When you approach your dinner table, your waiter brings your drink. Every night. 7) The Celebrity staff is very happy to be there. On the Epic, the employees rarely smiled. 8) There are a lot fewer children on Celebrity. I was tackled by some kids on the Epic. 9) The food on Celebrity is generally excellent, but not perfect. Every once in a while, there is a problem. I hope this helps.

The main dinning room on Ncl 4 star. The special are tad better. I plan on 6 special dinners

I am a TA with almost sixty cruises. The celebrity beyond is sailings finest hour.

Just a shame you didn't demonstrate the hand washing station at the buffet, might have encouraged folk to use it. I love the Beyond.

I was on the Sun and Jewel in October and November 2023. I love the older ships. I was on the Prima. The newer ships cater to the richer crowd.

You do not have to go to the specialists restaurant. The complementary restaurants was great. I went to the Buffet one time its was Good. I agree with you go to the other restaurant.

I was on the first 3 voyages open to the General public. I love the Entertainment and Food. I thought the Theater was okay. I always got a seat especially upstairs. I hated the small venue. NCL is catering more to its Haven and high end customers.

In the process of watching this series, we get on Beyond on Saturday. This will be our first Celebrity Cruise Cruise after only doing Royal Caribbean cruises. Hope we enjoy it as much as you guys did.

You have done a very good simplistic, cut and dry version of the drink package. Well done. My husband and I always take the Premium package, I pretty well break even, but my husband enjoys a few more than me. Best point however, is no bill at the end of the cruise (of course except for other purchases you made on board) and no signing a paper every time you ask for a drink.

Was on the Beyond in May. Loved it. We've been on 25+ Royal Caribbean cruises and decided to take it up a notch and try Celebrity for our 20th Anniversary. Amazing. My wife is hooked. We are booked on the Ascent in January. We may sneak another one in before then. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Free buffet coffee on Princess (Lavazza) was pretty darn delicious 🤔 However, if you are addicted to high-Calorie coffee beverages they are not free of course.

The drink package also includes the gratuities. When you pay for each drink the gratuity is added on to the bill.

Interesting review. MSC unabashedly caters to the lowest common denominator, even lower than Carnival, so your experiences should not have come as a surprise. You get what you pay for, and as my beloved points out "why cruise with people you would never live among?"

I was just on MSC seashore May 2024. I had no issues with any surcharge for added entrées at dinner had no issues with towels. The muster drill was fairly simple and although I could see your point about being a little bit of annoying, but nothing out of this world. The elevators, so you wait five minutes for an elevator, life is too short to make a big deal out of that especially when you’re on vacation. .!! Did not do any of the water slides can’t comment on that . My credit card was not taking for some reason, but resolve that quickly by going to get service. PS I’m a Solo traveler, the food I thought was really good the bar service little slow so you doubleFist two drinks and you said your good to go.! My question is if her experience with them was so bad, why has she cruised on them yet Again...!!! And yes would do MSC seashore again great ship ,great food, no complaints…!!!

Tip your waiter 50 bucks for the week and you’ll get more just like any land restaurant.

Where you on a 3 or 4 day? Normally, on most ships they are Booze cruises.

We were on the Beyond 2 years ago, and after some 25 cruises, this was our favorite by far.

Beyond April 2023 was my first cruise. Loved it. Back on the Beyond this November. Also sailed the Ascent. Ascent was excellent, as well, but there was something about the Beyond I preferred. If you feel like splurging, go to Eden for dinner. Some of the best food I've ever had land or sea.

Is starlink internet already available on the NCL Sun ?

I love the Prima for the most part. I was on the first 3 open to the Public. The food was so good. The venue was way too small. Never went to Syd Norman. Did go to the Comedy Club. Was always on the waitlist. The Theater was big. The show in the Theater was Great.

I was on the Seashore recently in May 2024 and I agree with most of your misses. Especially the lack of staff which led to bad service and SLOWWWWW drink service. I gave up several times at bars after waiting 15 minutes,. The worst part is the server and bartenders aren't even friendly. It's like they don't give a flip. That's probably because they automatically add a 15% tip to every drink you buy so they have no incentive to work quickly or even smile - that's on top of the $17 per day per guest gratuities they charge at the end. The food was hit or miss, but I've found that's every cruise. Believe it or not, we thought the food on MSC was better than Disney, which was 2x the price. But the service on Disney is unmatched. Remarkable, really. Not sure I would go back on MSC, but they're so cheap it's hard to complain much.

Hate being rushed through a meal especially if I’m eating in a specialty restaurant

When I first watched your video, I thought wow, she is just whining about everything. You have brought up a number of great points. Check in, not good. Getting your room keys, not good. Having to have everyone in your group having a drink package and you have a 3 year old, unbelievable. The elevators, that is not right. Dining in the MDR and waiting 30 minutes for a drink, not acceptable. Waiting for a drink at a bar for 30 minutes, not acceptable. Being charged extra for mains is getting common to keep people for ordering food they will not eat, but I think if the food is not up to standards, there should be no extra charge for the food. I look forward to your next review. We sail on the Seashore in July. I hope it gets better.

We sailed on the Prima this past January 2024 and we LOVED it and would not hesitate to sail her again! Yes, the layout of the ship is different from the "classic" cruise ship design, but I actually enjoyed how the ship made each space unique, intimate and distinctive. You really did hit the nail on the head regarding the positives versus the negatives about the Prima. The entire ship was modern, chic, contemporary and each space was thoughtful and very inviting. I believe NCL purposefully made most of the venues smaller in order to better disperse passengers throughout the ship, which, for the most part, they were successful in. The only venues that seemed overly crowded were the pool and surrounding area (yes, the pool is much too small for a ship that size, but we're not sun worshippers and can partake or pass on a pool depending on the size of the crowd, so it was no big deal to us), as well as the buffet, which again was much too small for a ship that size (and again, we are not buffet people, so we didn't mind at all). The atrium could become crowded if there was music or activities, but we just avoided the atrium during those times as well. Otherwise, each of the dining rooms and their food was excellent, and the staterooms incredibly comfortable, spacious and well appointed, especially the bathroom. We enjoyed all of the outdoor spaces (the ship was most definitely designed to sail in warmer weather cruises in order to take advantage of all the outdoor spaces) and even though our cruise was sold out, it never felt too crowded or overwhelming. Regarding the two dry slides, we tried both and had a blast...literally! We FLEW down the slides with no issues (getting stuck) and felt like kids again each time we slid down! Just like you, our favorite bar was the Belvedere Bar. Its location was tucked away and gave off a cozy vibe, perfect for that nightcap before adjourning for the evening. We also loved Hudson's (the larger of the two main dining rooms) with its wrap around windows looking out at the sea, the Indulge Food Hall, as well as two specialty restaurants: Food Republic and Onda by Scarpetta -- if you sail on the Prima, do not miss these wonderful restaurants (Cagney's Steak House also deserves an honorable mention)! Last, but not least, I also believe that NCL designed Prima to appeal to a different demographic and those passengers with young children may want to choose another NCL ship, such as those from its "Breakaway" and "Breakaway Plus" class, which cater to young families and young adults with its many age-appropriate activities (water slides, laser tag, arcade, etc.). To be honest, that's what I like about NCL -- they offer many different styles and sizes of ships that appeal more to certain demographics. I recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed you sharing your insights and perspective -- I look forward to your future content!

Just sailed that Prima did not like it. As an avid cruise, it's not the ship for me. It gave you hotel vibes, not cruise vibes. The venues were small in some spaces. I felt like I was sitting in a basement with no windows like the Metropolitan. There weren't many places you could sit and just look out at the water. The atrium was too small and to have to put out folding chairs was a little ghetto to me. You could not see the stage from the upper levels of the stream. I will be cruising on the Jewel later this year, which was updated in 2022 it seems as though it gives you cruising vibes.

I loved my Seaside cruise, best $2000 balcony ever! Included drinks and wifi too. We had the same issue at embarkation, someone wasn't ready for their cruise to end🤣 Can't really blame MSC though. The drink package is well documented too!
