Turn off file for SSI first before I file for my disability benefits because I don’t have another income at all and no saving house and I can’t get no money off of it because I don’t have a job and 401(k) if I take the money and I’m not old enough 20%got $4000. Can you draw SSI and you gotta have surgery and you don’t have an income because you got fired from your job of 27 years I draw stuff at security. If you get SOCIAL SECURITY before 65 and you are disabled then when you turn 65 they take you off disability. Even though you are they same as you were a few days before you turned 65.

How about an update for 2024.

I'm a 100% Total and Permanent disabled veteran, didn't know about VA disability until a few years ago, recently approved at 100% - after an appeal; took about 10 years. In the interim from the onset of total disability, I had SSI with medicaid; but with enough work history to qualify for SSA retirement that I plan to start at age 62. My SSI specifies it is due to disability. Question, "do I have to apply for SSDI or is it automatic due to my SSI due to disability". Hope someone can help shine some light on this. i have a rare/"incurable" cancer, live in CA and worked in healthcare for 21 yrs. and I cant even get on this or through this process. it can take 1-2 yrs. CA is the worst state in my opinion for this and homelessness is high. maybe its a sign God wants me to live and work even though my doctors love saying that ill die? ; ) BTW at work in healthcare, Im taking care of patients who have treatable and conditions, and Im serving them with a life threatening illness. Think our system needs reform? yes it does.

Thank you for pointing out the difference in how the political parties are affecting this. Neutral or not, people need to understand which party is trying to shut down their benefits, it's not the Democrats. It's the GOP. Republicans are actively trying to knock valid disabled off of benefits. They'll take your SSI, too

The question should be, why is the SSA depriving and literally blocking SSDI applicants from being able to use the SSA appeal process all the way to the Federal Supreme Court ? Make a video about this. There are no long wait time. Nobody is being denied. The SSA system is closed. And all registered or certified mail from SSDI being mail to any SSA office is deliberately being blocked, destroyed, stolen... before reaching SSA offices.

It’s no joke, I waited almost 3 years to see a judge, and I was denied. Like a lot of people my situation was pretty unique. I kept on passing out and going into seizure like activity. The doctor called it, but they couldn’t find out what was wrong. I had an episode right in front of an emergency room doctor he found ground glass particles in my lungs, which is kind of a catch all phrase, I think it was due to my time in the Middle East for the first golf war desert storm. my story is very long story, but basically they gave me some medication that treats, both a fib and migraines, and the passing out in seizures stopped. I was a over the road truck driver at the time. I obviously got fired from my job because I didn’t have a drivers license anymore after I stopped having seizures I did get my drivers license back. I worked for Walmart for 2 1/2 years and then I worked for the post office for two years.. Now at the post office, I hurt my shoulder, diagnosed with a type two slap tear. I had an operation through Worker’s Comp. and now there getting ready to send me back to work, but my shoulder still is killing me. I’m trying to way to apply for disability again from my shoulder, knowing I could be out of work for three years and not get it on the other side I don’t think I can do my old job anymore, working for the post office. You have to carry heavy packages when you case the mail you have to reach way above your head which is very painful for me but for any that’s got this and good luck with any problems you have just be aware sometimes you can wait three years and get denied.

I have mental health issues and had a horrible car accident and it fractured my neck and needed c5-c7 fused then i went back to work and worked as long as i could until i just couldn't do it anymore. I applied for disability and during this time i had a psychiatrist for years of medical records, pain management records, exams,tests,procedures and still got denied the first time. They actually said im denied " because i still have the use of my arms and legs") no lie. Tried every injection,test you name it and still denied again. Had to get lawyer and final got a hearing in front of judge after being yanked around for almost 2 years and was finally approved. With acceptance letter the judge actually said that my first application should never have been denied. Im thankful i finally got approved but having a judge basically say i was screwed over for the last 2 years really upset me. I know some people try just for the heck of it but when you have proof and a huge stack of medical records and proof that i at least tried to go back to work should account for something. Really felt let down. Since then ive had a l5-s1 back fusion and another next fusion of c4-c5 . Insurance companies are just as bad. I needed the last neck fusion and tried every test,injection,therapy and jumped through every hoop they wanted and still took 2 YEARS of suffering before it was approved. My surgeon with over 30 years experience spoke to the insurance companies doctors and was a joke. He finally just had it with the last one and they got in a screaming match with the insurance dr admitting it was a " blanket denial" and that he hadn't even looked at my records or anything, just denied it. After the screaming match my surgeon told him some he wanted his private # and gave the guy his and after all that the insurance dr called back within 20 minutes and said i was approved . 2 years fighting ss and 2 years fighting a necessary surgery. All they care about is money and the bonuses that can get by denying paying for stuff. Pathetic.

Hello as of 2 days ago I was given a back paycheck for SSI, an approval letter for SSI and an approval letter for SSDI. Do I need to report the SSDI to SSI and if so how? And will it later change how much they are giving me because i was approved for both? I will do exactly what I'm supposed to I just need to know.

He forgot to mention that you can also draw Social Security benefits as a disabled adult child. I draw mine on my father's record and also got medicare and medicaid.

Lawyer on another video say's everyone has bulging disc and that alone will not move the meter much to win a SSDI case. It would have to be pretty severe and show the bulge it's pushing on a nerve in the MRI, then you might have something. My MRI show's cervical radiculopathy, 3mm broad based posterior disc bulge combining with uncinate arthropathy producing moderate left foraminal narrowing. C6-C7 shows 2mm broad based posterior disc bulge. I do wake up at night with my left forearm and hand tingling like it's asleep multiple days a week. Problem is I also have carpal tunnel in my left wrist also so it's hard to figure out the cervical pain in my arm. My cervical issues though don't compare to what issues I have with my lumbar spine between L3- S1 and also my bi-lateral knee issues. Working a very physical job from 15y/o till 25y/o and then started my second job from 26y/o finishing my working career with 25.5yrs at a nationwide wholesale electrical parts warehouse. Didn't want to stop at 53.5y/o but my body said no more. The work has taken it's toll on my muscular skeletal system.

Ive had two surgeries and and I were denied for disability. I'm in pain on a daily have stop going to the doctors cause nothing is helping me. I've had shots, pills and even toldnot to let anyone operate on me again.
