HYMER / MERCEDES A DISASTER I must share my deplorable experience with the Grand Canyon 4x4 Sprinter Mercedes van from Hymer, purchased in 2021. This vehicle should have allowed me to experience unforgettable moments, but it turned into a nightmare. From the start, I was faced with serious problems, water leaks from the bodywork and skylight, problems with water evacuation and various fittings... Despite 4 visits to the workshop, no problem has not been resolved. Humidity invaded the interior of the camper, quickly deteriorating it. As for Mercedes' carrier vehicle, it's a continuing disaster. After an initial three-month breakdown requiring the replacement of numerous parts, including the gearbox, the problems persisted. The electronic control unit has failed again, the gearbox has failed again. Mercedes refusing to take responsibility. The Manufacturer HYMER absolves itself of its responsibilities as a manufacturer and simply refers me to Mercedes. I find myself alone fighting against Mercedes, without the support of HYMER. For less than three years now, this vehicle of more than 100 KE has remained immobilized for more than 12 months! In short, I find myself faced with a trying situation where I must constantly fight to find a solution. The customer service and after-sales follow-up from Hymer and Mercedes are deplorable. I want to shed light on the reality behind the promises of quality and reliability of these two renowned brands. My story is a warning to those considering a similar purchase. I therefore see myself obliged to initiate legal proceedings against HYMER and Mercedes. Contact me if you want to know more, but beware! I think people want to see floor layouts and whats really inside and outside of campervan. The couple smiling and taking pictures, a glimpse of front seat and rooftop, and again the couple drinking coffee are not what potential buyers want to see!!! This 1 min vidoes show absolute NOTHING about the van. Come on now..

The panels in the garage, recess, and the interior all have an unfortunate look of laminated chipboard. And the way the panels were fitted in the garage didn't look sturdy enough to withstand even light 4x4 activity for long.

The sound on this review is very distorted and difficult to understand, I had to resort to subtitles.

Wouldn’t recommend this business to anyone. I purchased a new swift motorhome from them on the 24th of February 2023 and still to this date it isn’t registered. I was giving a number plate and told it was registered and ready for pick-up, once picked up after about three months I noticed no V5 came yet I called up to ask why for them to tell me they had problems with the paperwork and are working on it! If I didn’t call them I would have never new!! I called DVLA to be told the registration application was denied 3 times due to them not sending a nova form or nova reference number, this is to prove the duties taxes ect are paid on the vehicle. I called them and explained if it doesn’t get sorted I am going to have to bring the motorhome back to them as it’s no good to anyone not registered! So I waited another month to be finally told again it failed for the same exact reasons. I don’t know if they’re trying to fraud the HMRC with vat and taxes ect or fraud me!! I told them I was bringing the motorhome back to their yard for a refund, I paid for the motorhome to be delivered from main land uk back to Northern Ireland. It’s now in there yard they checked the motorhome and said they would either register it next year on a 2024 plate or refund me. I explained I had a very bad experience and want a refund and it’s now 9 months later since I first purchased the motorhome. I never got my money I’m the lost of nearly 70k pounds and no motorhome!! I now have to take legal action! I have all the photos of the messages back and forth and voice recordings! Please stay away from this company! Either there out to fraud the customers or HMRC!!!!!
