Yes, the problems in education are quite old. Nothing has changed since the 50s, at least.

Credit: Google Bard and ChatGPT

This is true, but bringing up this argument now when the same argument should’ve been brought up against cloud-focused data centers seems a bit questionable. Edit: Also, to the credit of the AI community, there have been efforts to make models smaller and more efficient with comparable performance that have been quite successful so far. There currently exist many open source models with comparable performance to ChatGPT that can be run on one’s local computer with some of those smaller models nearly rivaling current performance on GPT-4. Edit2: Also, relative to the power consumption of cars on the road or meat production, going after AI models is peanuts in the grand scheme of climatological damage.

I agree with you, but we shouldn’t forget that AI are not only transformers model ( which as you well say the most well known need an incredible amount of data) but out there are many type of algorithms that also need an incredible amount of resources. Also, I wasn’t pointing to AI and data servers/farms as the main responsable on clima issues. But, nonetheless, we need to keep that in mind for future itinerarios of those technologies.

Today's education systems are completely outdated. For example, we know that if we postpone the start of school by 2 hours, the students could perform significantly better. We've known this for years and yet we don't react to it. Instead, they want to do less homework.... Of all things! Homework is important because it makes you think about what you learned that day and as you know, repetition is a key to success when learning. In the same way, you can also determine what was not fully understood and learn specifically. There is no substitute for homework and certainly no reason to remove it. What also needs to be taken much more seriously is cooperation in schools. For example, as parents you say to your little ones "and if someone annoys you, tell your teacher." This is not intended to raise your children to be a snitch, but rather to avoid unnecessary arguments because the children are still too inexperienced to find or enforce their own techniques. Why an older person should show it to the children. Unfortunately, showing it once isn't enough, which is why it should generally be handled this way in primary schools. But what do the children hear? You don't snitch... And then you're surprised that the children hit each other because both of them don't want to give in or constantly talk past each other. Then there is the fact that there are more and more children from war zones in the class. Often children with an immigration background cannot speak the language but are expected to take part in lessons. What's the point in that? I could go on writing about it for half a day. Things are going wrong.

Agree, school and education are incredibly outdated. Particularly in relation to new technologies and new approaches to teaching. Something it seems that there is not political will to change anything, at all.

Yes, sure it will need a stronger control and regulation than ever and could led to a dystopian controlled society but, even if I’m not sure I agree with the idea, I think it is a start or the seed of a group of ideas that we will define you need soon.

How would this money be generated?
@yakk42010 ай бұрын
@@lalosdopeit could come from a fund where all companies that have automated their industries have to pay into it. The amount paid would be based upon how many jobs are lost due to it. The more jobs lost the higher they pay and that rate would be calculated on how much each person would of made. This would include every and any job lost to computers, robots and automated machinery back dated to the very begining of when automation started replacing human jobs. Im not for it but this could be away it could happen.
