For motormouth philosophy in Sport England had Clough and America had Ali...I know who I'd prefer listening to...

There is no shadow of a doubt in my mind that England would have won another World Cup under this man. And I'm a Leicester fan - I'm supposed to dislike him. What he did with Forest was unprecedented. But I just like him as a man and a football fan. (glad he didn't get Weller though)

I saw a documentary of the day Clough retired and I was touched hearing a hack delivering his report via telephone saying "The days of miracles are over. The LIVING LEGEND Brian Clough has brought his managerial career to an end." Now that it's been around 30 years since that day, it is so clear how right that hack was, because sadly nobody since has come close to matching Brian Clough either in terms of football genius or personality.

He was a bit before my time, but watching this and other interviews he was so sharp, intelligent and insightful. He had his flaws for sure, but he was ahead of his time in an age of footballing dinosaurs

Well you've certainly left no stone unturned . From what I can remember my mates never had anything like these problems with their respective RD 200 & 400 ,they seemed very reliable at the time ( it was a VERY long time ago ) Beautiful ,and probably very rare now , bike . 👍👊

The greatest manager of all time period and will never be bettered. To take one Team on the verge of relegation to division 3 to division 1 champions is amazing but to do it twice and then win the European Cup twice Is unsurpassable. My all time hero

The greatest Clough moment i ever saw was the press conference when Trevor Francis signed for Forest. Friday night, Francis just signed, the press are interviewing him. Clough and Taylor are sitting in on it. Francis is answering all the press questions then one guy asks, “Trevor, when do you think you'll play your first game for Nottingham Forest?” Quick as a flash, before Francis could answer, Cloughie immediatlely says, “When i pick 'im!”

Clough scored *251 goals in 274 games* for Middlesborough and Sunderland. this is ridiculous! he's barely mentioned as a player, rather than manager / pundit...

It was Peter Taylor who was the brains behind their success at Forest and Derby what he said about the Leeds players and Don Revie I don't blame them for not accepting him Revie was a great manager having said all that he would be proud of what Nigel is doing at Mansfield

I met him when I was a kid in the late 70’s. He was watching an amateur league football match and I asked for his autograph. He told me to wait until half time ! 😂 To be fair to him, I did and he gave me his autograph and was very friendly. Enigmatic genius and one of a kind. I wish he was still around.

What a great man and football manager. One of my heroes in the game and in life. He'd be the first on my invitation list to a dinner party round mine. I'm a Leeds United fan who truly believes he would have made Leeds unbeatable given more time there. Maybe a lot of Leeds fans disagree and that's fine but I think we missed a trick there. Sadly missed Mr Brian Clough
