Wow I'm amazed by how thorough these videos are. I just stumbled upon this step 3 for some reason. I usually do a lot of inline skating but I like to play around with different things all the time as well, or could be a fun thing to build for someone else and just enjoy the whole process. I love building and repurposing stuff and this would be such a cool project :) All the effort you put into this will help me so much with that ❤

I used to skate with Bauer turbo quads. I had Sims snakes wheels? They were smooth AF. Can you recommend anything with the same type of feel?

So I have riedell ogs, my wheels right now are Radar Varsity Plus 57mm, I wanna get better at spins, dipping rhythm skating etc.. do you recommend fomacs or all American. I’m stuck and don’t know what to decide.

All American totally. Those are way way way better for dancing and spinning. You get a great mix of sliding and grip. Fomacs will make you feel like you are on ice. If you love to slide, then Fomacs are great for that but you will have trouble catching your balance and pivoting, unlike with the All-American Dreams.

good to know. I find myself liking All American Dream clay wheels. I think they have a great combination of slide and grip. I can slide a bit in them but they grip the floor well for dancing.

How do adjust the trucks on these?

These skate plates come with a special wrench. Once the truck king pin bolt is loosened then the flange can be lifted and turned to loosen or tighten the trucks. Hope this helps.

what is the weight or ounce of the mallet and does the 12 inch screwdriver work just aswell as the nail punch?

rubber mallet is 18 ounces and I recommend the nail punch over the screwdriver but I've heard of people having success with the screwdriver.

I am trying to learn to skate outdoors. I used to when I was a kid, but that was decades ago. I am really struggling with trying to skate on rough surfaces, even though I am using 78a wheels. From everything I've seen, those are what is recommended for skating outdoors. But where I live, there aren't any rinks, basketball or tennis courts, and not even parking lots to skate on. So I am left with some really rough concrete surfaces that I just cannot seem to skate on. I have found a couple of places that have a smoother concrete, that I really like. But the spaces are really small and aren't giving me room to advance. Would you be able to do a video outdoors, that shows a closeup view of how to get started skating on a rough surface? I keep searching for a video that really shows the very beginning of starting to skate on rough concrete, that I can watch to see how to get going! I recently did a video of my skating FAIL, trying to skate on that rough surface. And as soon as I start to go forward, my skate catches on a rough spot, and I almost fall. I need to get past that so I can advance, but don't know how. If you could make a video of that it would be greatly appreciated.

What do you do about the giant holes in the bottom? Do they not cause problems later on? I'm looking to add metal plates underneath to hold it firmer.

you can ignore the holes. Not sure the type of rivets you removed but when I do it the holes are not that big at all. It's really a matter of preference if you want to fill them. If you do fill then you can use "Edea carbon fiber plugs" with "JB Marine-Weld Epoxy Adhesive" to fill any holes on the boot. Once it's dries you can use the dremel tool to sand down any protrusions.

Can you explain further when you say, 1 piece boot? And yes you can use a metal plate with a composite boot. Composite is a very hard plastic. I don't see why there would be any issue.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for vids they help a lot. I've done a bunch of conversions but always butchered something. Thanks to your videos I did my first fully clean conversion, a pair of Bauer s27s with a sure grip Avanti plate and they came out super nice. We have a huge Bauer ice skate conversion scene here in London. Appreciate you man.
