The bobbin on my unit was on tight enough that I had to pry it off with a screw driver. Life jacket had inflated on it's own. Just from humidity? Great video.

Great video, do you have one showing how to repack the jacket?

Hmmm, on what you're calling the "back plate" (the black plastic bit that attaches to the cylinder), the one shown here does not have the red/green indicator. It seems like it might be a bad idea to try to unscrew the cylinder from those that have the indicator.

See our other video 'Hammar MA1', that shows the one with the indicator on the back plate.

I had one of my life jackets inflate when a crew member was having a cup of tea. The steam must have triggered it but the strange thing was that the gas cylinder wasn't pierced and the indicator was still green. Any ideas?
@MarineWarehouse3 жыл бұрын
Check weigh the cylinder, you will likely find it has discharged.. If its full it will be very close to the 'gross weight' +- 1g.

Why is the green clip, which is nothing more than a visual indicator, designed to be lost when the PFD is inflated? That's just adding to polluting our marine environment.

Is the bottom cartridge you took off an activator that also pierces the gas canister?

You forgot to test the jacket if it is airtight.

Thanks, this is just a video about the inflator - it doesn't cover the inflation test or other checks.

Very helpfull indeed, but you forgot to fill the vest with air to check if it is airtight and not leaking.

Thanks for giving us a hint that the bobbin uses salt!! I was thinking some sort of paper filling in there! Genius!
@RiemerWitteveen2 жыл бұрын
It's not salt. It's indeed cellulose paper.

Can I use the 33g kit on a 38grams model ?
@knutwuchtig30896 жыл бұрын
You can even use just 1000 grams brain, even when there's enough space for 1500 grams.
@MarineWarehouse5 жыл бұрын
No, always use the correct size gas, otherwise your jacket will only partially inflate.

Do you really need to change out the whole yellow thing after the vest has been inflated? Can't you just buy a new CO2 cylinder and a new preassure membrane?
@MarineWarehouse7 жыл бұрын
Yes the whole unit will need replacing
