Hia! Ive recently been given an offer of accommodation at transom house but am slightly concerned due to its lack of shared social spaces eg. A shared common room. My first choice was Nelson and drake due to its central location, shared common room, and reputation of being a more sociable accommodation. People that have been in accommodation at uwe/in general, would you say that a common room is an important factor? Which city centre accommodation offers the most positives? Would people recommend transom?

Hi, to answer your questions: 1. You can select location and type of room (shared or ensuite) but not the specific accommodation site. 2. We don't have available floor plans we're afraid 3. This is dependent on the size of accommodation but typically the bathroom is shared between 2-3 students. Hi Accommodation Team Our Daughter will be starting at UWE this September (Creative & Professional writing) and we just have a few questions regarding accommodation types you may be able to help with. She really wants to stay in Wallscourt so my questions are based on that: 1. When it comes to applying on the 13.06. I know she can select her location preference i.e Frenchay campus, but will she also have options to select the halls, i.e Wallscourt and then the type of accommodation, i.e Shared, Flat or En-siute? 2. What are the differences in sizes and features between the Standard, Large and Super Large rooms with shared bathrooms? Do you have floor plans we can look at? 3. Of these rooms with shared bathrooms, are they only shared between 2 students? Thank you

I don’t feel the tile of the video reflects the content. ‘What does it mean to be a man’, most of the video is about violence against women, a very important issue. The importance of which is highlighted in the video. It’s Intriguing if the title is a tactic to get people to watch. There is a mild element of look after each other. I didn’t think the sports scenes in the background are particularly relevant and the context is summarised in the final 3 words, Don’t blame women. Perhaps this is in response to a series of incidents that have recently taken place at UWE, but I feel there would have been better ways to achieve that goal than this video.

Additionally, it would be good to hear about what is happening to retain students. Particularly post-graduate students who almost straddle the boundaries of student and staff and therefore might be subject to 'falling through the cracks' in terms of support needs.
