HI, MAF readings are totally fckded. Most probably you will abandon this very soon. it is not by chance that MAF is placed in a straight tube and it is not by chance that it has a platic grid / mesh (it is not to stop "bulk objects" to enter to the sensor itself). Greetings. :)

The '02 CLK320 I have doesn't have the hood vents. And even with some googling it appears the vents are only on the 55s. May almost be worth getting a non-AMG hood and cutting vents into that. But then getting the paint to match well might be miserable.

If I may give you a tip, sand the metal elbow there were the couplers goes on to get some extra grip😉 And isn't it an option to use a short straight coupler from intake manifold to the elbow I think you gain extra clearance and you're free from the brakebooster pipe 😉 And you say you go into your intake with a magnet? Do you have a plastic 🧲 😜🤪 And congrats again 😉🤘🏼

@@THE-WISHMASTER I think my plan is to just go 3 inch piping on that first piece then silicone coupler 3-3.5in. That should bring it down enough. The straight on the bottom put the connector for the MAF sensor too close to the firewall to plug in. Yes the elusive magical plastic magnet loll no I was fishing around to make sure none of the steel components in the manifold were bound up by it 🤙🏼

That new MAF elbow looks great. Seems to be much better clearance and a snug fit.

Hey just fyi, I'd highly advise against just leaving the stem in the car, as the seals on the stem keep oil pressure. If one of those seals fails due to being left in the engine for longer than your oil change intervals, it won't take long to wipe out the engine.

@@jakesousa5508 the idea is not to leave it in, just that the cap lives separate when you twist it off. You would then remove the stem and replace all seals and filter then put back like before
