The scene where Shackleton (Kenneth Branagh) talks down the rebellious McNish and his men after the shipwreck was very realistic and amazing.

The only thing that kinda bummed me out was that they killed Lt. Elgin. He actually showed Dunbar some compassion. Incredible movie. My top 3 all-time for sure.

How bizarre that this has been edited at the point where Mr Brown shines his torch into the papered up void revealing a truly terrible scene of a number of murdered women's corpses...

Sorry, Orson. The Swiss didn't invent the cuckoo clock. Great story, though.

The Nazis would've had a tough time trying to invade the UK; an island nation in the truest sense, a very strong Navy and Airforce would've taken care of any amphibious landing, and the Army & Home Guard (they weren't all as old as the guys in the tv show) would've repulsed an airborne invasion. Like the movie, the natives of this country would've fought extremely hard.

@ 3:46 of this clip shows clearly and conclusively what a real russian soldier is A COWARD! Like the palestinians of today. They start wars realize after 1 st 1/2 hour of fighting they can't win and 😢 for help for someones help to win. Even Stalin did after Hitler his pal invaded him. What won WW2 for Russia was all the P 39 AeroCobra planes, trucks, tanks, food and cigarettes AMERICA sent over. Otherwise German Nazi's would have attacked east not only just to Stalingrad, but all the way to Vladavostok.

Not even that, the Cuckoo clock is a German invention, from the Black Forest snow-covered village of Schönwald, a village where many cuckoo clockmakers still operate workshops to this day. “It became associated with Switzerland because cuckoo clocks imported from Germany were available at tourist shops in this country and became a favourite souvenir.”

The ending alone speaks to the very well deserved Best Picture Oscar win. It so perfectly describes how we are only here for a short while and be very mindful of what really matters in life. Spacey narrates it impeccable. A dark by oddly enlightening movie all at the same time.
I don’t ever refer to any of my ancestors as Sioux, they are the Ocete Sakiwan “the people that walk the Earth” The dirty scumbag French named our people, “little snakes “or Sioux in cowardly French!!!
