People who beat him first try are literally magic users, people that find the boss fight hard are melee users I just realized, this boss fight is literally meant for magic users, just they got more advantages than melee users. More openings, he’s slow, and they can damage him immediately, while melee users are forced to go up to him, and he uses cheap moves like what the fuck.

So I’m guessing that the dlc isn’t for free since I didn’t got the eye thingy

Tip for anyone that’s afraid of losing their souls to this guy make sure you die far from his spawn area

Honestly, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. He just hits me in mid are when I hit heavy attack no matter what move he is doing not to mention I'm get hit even when I'm behind him attacking his legs. I've been at this fucker for 3 hrs

F**k the designer of this boss and the whole mission! This boss is probably trivial for tanky builds, for high dps builds or if you're just lucky because there's so much rng at play. 5 or 10% more dps can decide the whole battle. But as a glass canon onmyo build who readied all the wrong spells before arriving at the mission this boss is cancer.

Love the game, but I hate how games save the coolest stuff towards the end. Like I wanna enjoy on my first go

Don’t know if anyone is viewing this 11 months later, and this is a great technique to avoid damage but! if for some reason you’re struggling with this mini boss and his attacks I will tell you have I cheesed it: First, as annoying as it was, I ran past all of them, including the clown to get to the opera house stargazer. After that I let clown boy kill me cause it didn’t matter. Then I took about 15-20ish minutes to “grind” for 8000 ergo, then I go to the wandering merchant in the Malum district. Proceed to buy 5 (at least that was my carrying capacity at the time) of every decent throwable; The cluster grenades, throwing cells, thermite, and body fluid. Equip all of these, then return to the Opera house stargazer and go down the steps to grab big boy’s attention. Run back up the steps and get some distance. Lock on to the SOB and throw everything you have at him. I was able to kill him without taking damage, and i got around 6000 ergo back so I’ll consider that as my efforts not being wasted. I hope this helps anyone else who is playing for the story, and not fighting bosses 20 times :))

Such bullshit fight, the camera was the true boss. The combat really showed it’s biggest flaw in this fight. Also the fsct you take damage while performing abilities…ridiculous.

I beat this dragon at level 150 with level 20 nagakiba and bloody slash ash of war but I hide behind rock in right corner of the map for all those frost attacks and slash him every time he come close and try to hit me with his head. Cheap tactics. Need to wait for your turn but only way I manage to beat him and yes lost 100K + runes to him.
