Hi, ive stumbled upon you by chance, this game looks really good and so much potential. Maybe you can even make series where you have a kid and move into another town? Because the town itself is amazing. For example, if you make a business, a bakery, then the town is very lack in agricultural, it might not suited. Then maybe you can make into some goal per generation? Like, one to build business, one to reach the top of career, and many more. I hope you can make this as series into your youtube channel, i like how you play this, not rushing, carefully learn things along the way… quick question, where did you set for socializing? I think i missed it..

Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. 😊 As it happens, I have now started a new series, in a 'real' town so I can play with many more of the game's features. 🥳 Not sure how long the series will last, as I am not very good at planning so when it gets complicated things can go badly wrong quite quickly! But, if there's enough interest and I do manage to work it out, I hope to get far enough to help novice players understand at least the basics. 🤞 As for enabling socializing; if you click the first icon in the character panel ("Relations") or press 'Z' there's a little checkbox to turn on/off meeting people.

All electric tracks but show no electric path in my game 😢😢
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays 13 күн бұрын
Hi, as far as I know, the only reason the game will say that is because there is a section of track the train wants to use that is not electrified. My suggestions: 1. DOUBLE CHECK every inch of the route to make sure it shows up as 'electrified' when using the upgrade tool. 2. Make sure the track attached to the depot is electrified, it can be updated using the same rail upgrade tool. 3. Remove any modded 'electric' track and replace with vanilla electrified track. 4. Ask on the Steam forums, with pictures if possible - there are plenty of players there very happy to help out. Good luck!

You asked how gender works when going to the stylist. At least for now, you can invite anyone to live with you as long as they have 50 or more opinion score. You can define if they are roommates, lovers or what not outside of the game. But if you look at a male's relationship panel a woman in the household will have a baby icon to make a baby. As of now that is how gender works. There are talks of offering adoption, so that may be implemented at some point. Personally, I like how it works, as we are not forced to define things so the player is free to use some imagination to form the story they want to. I think as far as you not finding a woman, it is just random, though it took me awhile to find a good one with compatibility, but there is plenty of time in the game to find a woman, and rain up her opinion. One thing to consider especially with big maps, when you look for new places to live or work is location. Sometimes it is better to take something less desirable that is by your job, than the perfect place clear across the city. And if you fail to get a job or they do not have the right one near you, wait a month and search again, you may get better pay or hours next month. Unfortunately, you can't do that with housing, or risk being homeless. When looking for a job I would click the white board icon on that screen, and it shows all available jobs in the game, also under search job you can order it by what your character likes, then you want to use both screens to plan out what you need. Many big careers will have low level entry points, that you can work towards your real job, a few will have degrees needed. I find it best to plan on a future job, and find jobs that give XP in the things you need. Of course, like real life, you will often start with a good plan and deviate as the game plays out. If you do a full series, on a larger map, a good plan can really add to the game. I think you are figuring out the game quite well. It's one of those you can fumble around a bit and not really lose too much, as there is plenty of time to change plans, work in something new. Feel free to set a smaller goal and adapt when you get there. One of the best things about this game is you can do anything, so there is no wrong way to play...though one of the worst things about this game is you can do anything, so that can be daunting, until you figure it out.
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays 23 күн бұрын
I'm sure trying to positively represent all the different lifestyles and situations people know in the 'real world' is quite a challenge, will be interesting to see how much diversity the game will eventually encompass. As for kids, adoption would be a great option to have. I don't think I mentioned it in the episode but I was thinking about location for the various activities, will need to be more tuned to that in future. And it's good to see that that more useful data presentation features are being added to the game - just need to get used to finding them! As for plans ... yeah, going off the rails is how most of my plans play out! 🤣

@colmortimer1066
@colmortimer1066 19 күн бұрын
@@tawsh To get someone to move in you need 50 opinion, and it will unlock the button to invite them to move in. This will give you a new relationship tab for household. Then in the female's social menu, a little pacifier icon will be there next to the male, you just click on it and the next month, she will be pregnant, then after 9 months of a small pregnant de-buff you get a baby to take care of. As far as I am aware there is no randomness to it, if you click the have baby option you get one when the month turns over.

I watched about 15 minutes of this video when you posted it and said "I need to check this out myself." I played the demo, bought it and am over 32 hours in. Then I saw you posted this in the discord and remembered I never actually finished watching this one. For a rather simple game as far as game mechanics, there is really loads of depth to it, as you advance down a career path, get married, have a family, start your own business. There is a large amount of things to do and manage. I think it does the life sim parts better than the sims games do, where the main draw there is building and buying things, and doing fun actions. Here it is mostly about managing needs, items, career and such on a deeper level. Your character is not broken you just did the wrong things until near the end you got it. He likes shopping so can do a lot of window shopping for fun. Both my characters right now do not like eating, nor sleeping, but they like to be outdoors so I do a lot of park activities. One is addicted to paperwork of all things. I take her to the bank to take out a loan once a day, then cancel it. I want to get her into a head chef, so she can paper work at work. She was a part-time receptionist for a bit which gave her full paperwork, but as a part time cook she was not leveling cooking enough, so I went full time chef, to work into it. But that is the trick, you just need to find what your people like and do those, and fun will not be a problem.

Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave such generous and helpful comments. 😊 I agree that the game's apparent simplicity does hide a considerable depth of simulation detail. Which does mean there's a lot of UI to become familiar with but I think it generally does tell you what you need to know and having lots of tool-tips is very helpful. Thank you for the advice on dealing with my characters preferences, the complexity certainly confused me a lot to start with, but I think (I hope) it's becoming clearer. In fact I'm now feeling limited by the tutorial city so if these first videos (the second one has just been released) do well and warrant a longer series, I may well start again in a more "complete" city to give 'Ajax' more things to do ... and get wrong! 😂 Once again, thank you for your support. 😊
@colmortimer1066
@colmortimer1066 24 күн бұрын
@@AjaxpostPlays I'd recommend a bigger city, it opens up a lot of the game. and if you are still confused you can play the tutorial again, on the new map. Though I would use it as a guide and dismiss any that don't fit. Like it will want your first job to be cashier, but if you want to try something else, find the job you want and dismiss that section of the tutorial. He's also working on a new help system, that might be better, as you could skip the tutorial and get help when you need it. I am not sure how long it will take to implement this though, he just announced it in discord a few hours ago.
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays 24 күн бұрын
Yeah, I was a little conflicted before starting the recording. I realised that the tutorial worked in other cities but wasn't sure if it would work as well, or in the same way, in another location so decided to stick with Tutorialville for the first look. I quite like the current tutorial, it works well in guiding users through the basics and, from what I saw, it also pops up when you access something for the first time which is neat. But, it would be even better if you could access it as an online in-game quick reference tool as and when you need it.

Do you have tips and tricks? One I have is when you look for job opening you can filter to what jobs will be more fitting for a character on that page and there also is filter by qualifications you already have. But it's good to look at that for planning education like certification or even degrees. It does feels like trade school jobs don't pay that much better in the city I was playing. But it makes the character happier and have a few dollars an hour more can take you a long way.

Regarding profit : It looks like you have forgot all I teach you :D. Keep in mind, deliver both ways is route to profit. You need to change lines like this : First line deliver logs to sawmil AND planks to Forest (on route back). Second line delivers planks from Forest to Factory AND tools to Forest (on route back). Thirth route the only one way delivery is Tools from Forest to City. Same scheme have to be used for all industry. Always bring product back, dont care about longer route of product, only important is enforced profit which comes from abusing silly game mechanics.

But, just watching the videos from the other Collabrian collaborators, they have used the multi-leg rules more effectively than I have, so I hope I can take all these lessons into the gameplay episodes. Thankfully, these 'Test match' episodes are mostly just for testing ideas and not necessarily creating long-term routes. Ooh, _so_ close, and that is indeed a Beer Festival I have been to in the past, and the answer is indeed to do with Real Ale, but I'm looking for something a little more specific ...? 😎

@@AjaxpostPlays CAMRA organization has a headquarter in St Albans ? Never heard of it, but it is quite funny, I live in Plzen - Pilzen. So i know where the only real ale is made. :D

Ahh, could you be right... 🤔 There are actually two answers I would accept, just need to wait a few more days to see if that is it. I only really know of three Czech cities, Praha (which I visited over 20 years ago!), Plzeň, and České Budějovice - the latter two because of their history of brewing the most excellent beers. Na zdraví! 🍻

@@AjaxpostPlays Budějovice is the city where "american" Budweiser was found. Well it was about time when Columbus discovered Cuba.

@@gg.youlubeatube6249 Yeah, as I understand the Americans loved the true original and then proceeded to adulterate it so it would appeal to the most basic of American tastes. Thankfully the brewery, Czech government and EU are protecting the genuine Budweiser Budvar.

Indeed, if the dev can bring all the elements together and allow us to use them to shape the show it could be a very interesting and challenging game.

Hi, first off thank you for commenting and the kind words. Train World is certainly not Transport Fever, doesn't allow for the same sort of sandbox creativity and is obviously much simpler graphically. I consider it more of a puzzle game than a fully fledged tycoon or simulator title and it does what it does very well and is an enjoyable challenge. Importantly the dev is very engaged in improving and developing the game which is always great to see.

Hi Ajax ... I think you will have to step up your track laying to get your reputation up. Double tracking runs a lot smoother, signaling is another thing which has a big impact. The distance between them should be about 500 meters because later in the game you will be having trains up around 400 meters long. Having long intervals will block following trains, you need to keep everything moving. Y juctions also need enough runoff so that the long freight trains can clear the track it's leaving. I have uploaded a video of a contract delivery from Seattle to Baltimore that you can have a look at and see how my track laying looks like. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7hmbM2Hyt_Iqok.html

Hey, yeah, looking at the reputation report I'm thinking that my problem is, indeed, throughput and that shorter routes rather than longer multi-stop services would resolve those issues. Which, I recall, you initially suggested and somewhat contrary to the devs' recommendation. Seeing as I don't have the rep. to open another region this does seem like a good opportunity to add more double tracking and get more trains running. Thanks for the video link, that is quite an elegant setup and, who knows, maybe my rough-and-ready ad hoc approach might evolve to something similar... 🤔
