Nice and educative video. Please keep them coming. I'll like to chime in that even for systems below 1200W, there's advantage in efficiencies and reduced cable cost if one goes to higher voltage like 48V. This is especially true and easier with lithium batteries. I understand that because of the economic situation, lead acid batteries, especially the tubular batteries are the most popular batteries in Nigeria and most of sub-saharan Africa but this will not continue forever. The Chinese are doubling down on sodium ion batteries which are similar to lithium ion batteries but will be like 40% cheaper and I think they'll displace lead acid batteries and complement lithium batteries. Consequently, calculations like the ones in this video, while correct should include similar calculations for lithium and sodium ion batteries. They'll be similar to the ones done above but you'll need to account for their much higher round trip efficiencies and wider/deeper depths of discharge. Again thanks for putting up the video.

It's not appropriate to support avr generator coil with capacitor, you have to change the starting wire

Will this work on a diesel too? I have a 3.5kVA that starts perfectly with electric starter but has always been impossible to pull start - the valves are presently set as per the manual.

Great video on oil sensor and switch..I bought used Firman eco8990esr but later realized the oil switch is missing while the oil sensor is still intact on the engine. I got a new oil sensor and I have plugged the oil sensor to the oil switch but how do I know the on/off switch wire to pug the oil sensor output wire to?

Hi from the Philippines - newbie to generator engines. I've got a 6kVA diesel that is due it's first oil change and tappet adjustment and I have hunted high and low for the valve clearances, to no avail. I've seen similar gens that recommend 0.004 to 0.006 inches (0.1 to 0.15mm) - is this a good ballpark figure? I'm curious that you got that engine sounding sweet without using feeler gauges - what's the secret?? I've got a cheap 4kVA gas gen coming this week because it's very quiet and ideal for night time use - we get a lot of outages here - which is why I have subscribed to your channel, there is simply no-one to do repairs where I live, except me.
