Keeping a schedule as best as possible is so key to a more relaxed baby and mama. To me it sounded silly but I learned with my second it made life so much easier. Also enjoy your baby at this time- don't let outside opinions bother you, this is your family. Always set boundaries for what you will allow and won't around you, baby, and your home. Don't ever feel bad for setting boundaries for you and baby.

How short the time actually is, and not in regards to time management. It's boggling how fast they grow and how much your heart aches. The worry you feel and expectations you set for yourself. I'm still constantly doubting if I've spent enough time with them, or if I'm "messing them up" somehow.

SHARE your advice & SAVE for the tips🩷⤵️ For me, I wish I would have understood how to better schedule & manage my time as a first time mom! There didn’t ever seem to be enough time in the day which turned me into an overwhelmed mess…🙈 However, once I learned how to do the ‘right’ tasks at the right time did motherhood seem less daunting. It looked like dividing up my tasks into ‘easy’ or less brain power tasks for when baby was awake (think: washing bottles, folding laundry, dusting/sweeping) & saving ‘harder’ tasks for when baby was asleep. ✅LESSON LEARNED: I used to try to do harder tasks or stuff that took more mental energy (meal planning, content editing, deep cleans, etc.) while baby was awake & it would stress me out EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Learning how to divvy up my mindless vs. concentration tasks allowed me to feel calmer during the day when baby was awake & actually feel a sense of accomplishment when baby slept! A newborn cart is a helpful way to keep baby necessities close by when baby is still in your room those first few months. To get started you’ll need: -Diapers/Wipes -Trash Can -Sleep & Plays (6-8) @carters are my favorite! -Sleep Sacks (2-3) -Burp Cloths (6-10) -Extra Bassinet Sheets (1-2) -Baby Blanket (1-2) -Baby Books, Rattle, Etc. (optional) A 3-tier rolling cart is also a great option for small spaces or even if your nursery isn’t quite ready yet! Plus, it can turn into a bookshelf or stuffed animal storage as baby grows👶➡️👧👦 Follow @stephaniehajal for more more mom tips & happy parenting🩷 #newborntips #babyorganizer #babyorganization #newborncart #happyparenting #honestmotherhood #firsttimemomtips #secondtimemom #pregnantmama #toddlermomlife #stayathomemom #babytips #toddlertips #momtips #allthingsmotherhood

I made a mistake in this video🙈 After sterilizing your bottles, place them on a clean dish towel or paper towel *INSTEAD* of the drying rack like I mentioned in the video - especially if baby is under 2 months old, premature, or immunocompromised🩷 Here is the CDC’s most updated bottle cleaning/sterilization info: www.cdc.gov/hygiene/faq/index.html

How many clothes do you really need?⤵️👶 My advice is to start small & grow baby’s wardrobe as needed…because you probably need less than you think! For example, here is one week’s worth of my newborn’s laundry to help give a realistic idea: 6 sleep & plays 2 onesies 1 cute outfit 3 sleep sacks 6 burp cloths 2 bassinet sheets & 1 towel/washcloth It really surprised me how little clothing newborns need - especially in the beginning! Newborns don’t move much, so they tend to not get as messy compared to older babies who are more mobile & eating solids I also don’t bother with pants or socks in this early stage since there are SO. MANY. DIAPER. CHANGES🙈 Is this amount of clothing more or less than you were thinking? Make sure to follow @stephaniehajal for my newborn cart video & more new mom tips! Stephanie, I just stumbled on your video and had to comment! My first daughter who is now 2.5 had CMPA (suspected, it's hard to diagnose with complete certainty) and as you're chatting about it my heart rate is going up remembering how hard it was to deal with. I exclusively breastfed and I changed my diet to eventually exclude EVERYTHING....it was so so hard, nothing worked, she still had blood in her stools. Then randomly she just got over it, around 6 months old. I had lost a lot of weight by then and I had so much anxiety. Limiting my diet REALLY took a toll mentally. My second baby also started having blood in her stools and I was so worried I had to go through everything again. Doctors don't tell you much except start the elimination diet and challenge, or go to hypoallergenic formula (which I agree, is emotional!) But I found a video online "Does my breastfed baby really have a dairy allergy?" and honestly, it convinced me that neither of my children had CMPA. Rather I believe the cause was oversupply/forceful letdown because apparently this can also cause blood in the stools and they share other symptoms. Look up "Mary Cahill, Certified Lactation Counselor" on youtube. She explains everything. I'm not saying don't trust your doctor but in SO many cases it's not actually CMPA and it is getting overdiagnosed! Do whatever causes you less anxiety....weigh up the costs and benefits. I know you're a complete stranger online but I feel for you!!! Sending love and all the best to you and your baby and you will get through this! :)

Postpartum Body Image Tips⤵️ Here are some things that have helped me have better body image during postpartum: 🤍Buying clothes that are comfortable & fit my new body by sizing up 🤍Donating prebaby clothes that don’t serve the old me anymore 🤍Getting rid of full length mirrors in our home because what’s inside matters more 🤍Throwing away the scale because there are more important metrics in motherhood (i.e. how many times your kids made you smile today😊) 🤍Doing blind weights at the doctor’s office & focusing on mental recovery instead I know it’s hard to look & feel different after you’ve had a baby. I’m grateful for our children, but it’s still hard to not recognize what you see in the mirror sometimes. It took me a good 18 months to feel like myself again after having my daughter, but I still looked different than before becoming a mom with my hips remaining wider & my chest fuller after giving birth. The above tips have really helped me to have a better body image by letting go of the pressure to “bounce back” & having more energy to focus on taking care of my children instead👶 Also, you dont have to wear jeans anymore if you don’t want to & that’s okay too🩷 👉🏼FOLLOW @stephaniehajal for more honest motherhood posts! x #ohheymama #postpartumbody #bodypositivity #fourthtrimester #honestmotherhood #firsttimemomtips #secondtimemom #pregnantmama #toddlermomlife #stayathomemom #babytips #toddlertips #momtips #allthingsmotherhood
